BBGTR - Markov did a 1:42.05 according to the time sheets at the end of the day..

Big thanks to Ryan, Gareth and Jarrod for helping me diagnose the problem, makes life easy when you got blokes like you around!!!

Also big thanks to Mav for the accomodation, had a good laugh Sat night...

Al - I owe you a few drinks....

And sorry to all the other cars I broke aswell, it wasn't intentional!!!

New PB for me after new engine 1.49.18 - sorry Ferni - I think that is the extra 20kw I have on you.

20? and the rest ;) I would say i'll beat you next time, but i don't think i'll be able to catch you now... I'll just have to settle that i beat you into the 49's first even if only by a few hours :)

1.49.82 backed up with a 1.49.88 the following lap.

Respect to everyone who is going faster than that, dropping from 1.50's to 1.49's felt like i was going about 20% faster, but yet i was only really going about half a percent faster. No idea how you guys do 46's and 47's....

LOL - If it's any concillation - I don't know how you do a 1:49! :)

I ran a best of 1:54.70 on the last session, however I was hampered by a slow Celica through turn 1 and turn 2... I'm guessing it would have been a low 53 otherwise.

Can't wait to get out in December and give it another crack! ;)

I'll show you mine if you show me yours - I'm at 350kw, apparently you are at 330kw ;):)

I'll post a pic of tyres as well when I get home - there're knackered.

I wish I knew what my Sat times were - we will never know who was first :(

Isn't it a good feeling! Edited by BBGTR

Now i know why so many people rate PI. It's an awesome track.

ditto. I don't know if i went any quicker, but the only time i got was from one session where I had the lap timer in the car and it showed 1:56.8. That lap felt quick but i know I'm not going hard enough through hayshed and into lukey heights so there's a little more there but sheeesh another 6 seconds?!!

I think i need another turbo ;)

HAD AN AWESOME WEEKEND! Panned out just the way i hoped: Sit back, suk piss and catch up with the crew.

Thanks to Mav, for providing the accommodation and to everyone else for their company.

Well Jack hopefully Ben sorts out the issue. Thanks for helping me with my suspension quires, i have already ordered and payed for the CUSCO components required .

Hopefully i'll be out there soon! Went past EAS and was surprised to find that most the engine bay had been re-assembled :thanks:

Head and clutch are back from the machinist, just waiting on the sump and manifold.

Made it back home last night. Washed some of the grass and dirt of the Slot Car. I got sucked in turning early on last corner onto the straight and sort of run out of black stuff and rear stepped out on me at high revs in fourth, so must have gone off at over 200ks and managed to keep her off the wall which was looking nasty at one point. Yes grass went flying over the car, so yes I really did cut their grass. Blocked the intakes a bit and water temps went to 123c. The in car vid should be good TOM????? Had a great weekend, you guys in Vic and Team Wang sure have it going on done there. Hope to turn it on a bit for you guys when you come up to the Sydney tracks and lets rev up the Sydney guys to lose their hand bag and have a go.

Some testing times for Jack but you made a day of it anyway and sure to be out there bigger and better. Well done to ferni and others who improved. Top bunch of blokes and also Bec, well done being the social director. Yes and Sam's time is awesome and he got my attention, I tracked him down and gave him a call and went and spent the afternoon in his shed out in middle of nowhere on the way home, and I learnt a lot from him. He has an immaculate prepared car and he confirmed some geometry suspension pivot point changes I was looking to do with Akerman and control arms angles or geometry etc.

I have to get the Slot Car sorted and ready for Circuit Battle this Thursday at Wakey.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
