do you want just the stand alone screen? flip out or a double din fixed unit?

Really all depends on cost and what you can get. Ideally i want to get rid of my cd/dvd headunit, and 3 gauge din holder and put a 7" touch screen in there, so it will need vga input with a usb output - for the touchscreen functionality. It will then be connected up to a craptop (laptop that is well, crap) that i got from work for free, which will be connected to my haltech ecu so i can get read outs - woo rice, and play music, gps, etc etc of a carpc.

I have been looking at these lilliput screens. I am looking to be setting my carpc and car interior retrim up around the end of the year, performance mods first - which is almost done, around september/october time.

someone on NS.COM said pooraka petrol station has 100RON with up to 10% ethanol!

new replacement for e85?

probably not... not enough % ethanol to make a real differance so you wont see/get any of the advantages of ethanol... oh, and only 100 ron

why is there no f ing cheerleaders at the footy? as if it wasnt gay enough already.

got forced to attend and didnt even have anything to watch all game wtf

don't you go to the footy to watch it? Well, you could have gone downstairs and gotten plastered in the drinking section.

ofcourse i dont go to watch it, got dragged there by my boss who had season tickets n no 1 to take. even she is regretting buying em.

crows won something like 120 to 15 and i heard carn the crows about a million times

heaps weird theres people there that pay the money for a ticket n then just watch it on the tv at the pub there, why not just do it at a bar nearby for nothing

ah yeah sorry Jack. I am after a stand-alone screen that I can have a fibreglass shroud built to custom mount it on a dash. Planning on plugging an EeeePC/Acer Aspire One into it to run full time consult display tools from ODBII. Resolution needs to be around 1024x600 or so, and needs to have a VGA conector (and USB connector to run the touch screen obviously).

Are you planing on mounting in where the 3 gauge holder is ontop of the dash in the 34? or do you have the flip out factory screen ontop of the dash and would like to put a fixed touch screen in there insted?

As Abe sugested before the lilliput screens are very popular with guys doing what you two are.

No probs with getting rid of the CD and 3 gauge holder in the dash, did you want to keep the pocket underneath it or get rid of that too? As i said in the other quote the lilliput screens are very popular for this kind of thing and i would highly recomend them.

Ill see what else i can find for you guys and get back to you both via PM.

Pocket underneath? I have my climate control up top, jvc dvd headunit, then my 3 gauge holder - with 1 gauge in it, right below that is the ashtray etc etc. I am wanting to maybe get rid of jvc headunit and 3 gauge holder, as ill have readouts on the screen, and the carpc for music, etc, and keep the climate control for well, aircon and heating i guess.

i wouldnt mind a 4x4, like a jacked up hilux or something but moving out of home comes first atm

also thinking about getting rid of the 33 already as im growing bord with it so i could get a decent 4x4 maybe or maybe just a normal car.

    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
    • Nah, that is hella wrong. If I do a simple linear between 150°C (0.407v) and 50°C (2.98v) I get the formula Temperature = -38.8651*voltage + 165.8181 It is perfectly correct at 50 and 150, but it is as much as 20° out in the region of 110°C, because the actual data is significantly non-linear there. It is no more than 4° out down at the lowest temperatures, but is is seriously shit almost everywhere. I cannot believe that the instruction is to do a 2 point linear fit. I would say the method I used previously would have to be better.
    • When I said "wiring diagram", I meant the car's wiring diagram. You need to understand how and when 12V appears on certain wires/terminals, when 0V is allowed to appear on certain wires/terminals (which is the difference between supply side switching, and earth side switching), for the way that the car is supposed to work without the immobiliser. Then you start looking for those voltages in the appropriate places at the appropriate times (ie, relay terminals, ECU terminals, fuel pump terminals, at different ignition switch positions, and at times such as "immediately after switching to ON" and "say, 5-10s after switching to ON". You will find that you are not getting what you need when and where you need it, and because you understand what you need and when, from working through the wiring diagram, you can then likely work out why you're not getting it. And that will lead you to the mess that has been made of the associated wires around the immobiliser. But seriously, there is no way that we will be able to find or lead you to the fault from here. You will have to do it at the car, because it will be something f**ked up, and there are a near infinite number of ways for it to be f**ked up. The wiring diagram will give you wire colours and pin numbers and so you can do continuity testing and voltage/time probing and start to work out what is right and what is wrong. I can only close my eyes and imagine a rat's nest of wiring under the dash. You can actually see and touch it.
