We were there, we got there a bit late, about 11:45, and then we had an issue with the BBQ, one of the fittings didn't fit, so Madaz and I had to drive to Gawler to get the fitting. Cubes, Simon-R32 and co hung around till we got back though (about 1), then we started cooking and couldn't find many people...

I was running a bit late(12:30) , and on my way in I saw at least 6 Skylines coming back towards Adelaide, maybe people couldnt find anyone out there. I saw Mobies on its way out as well at the gates.....

I found them pretty easy though, Simon's Red R32 car was parked on the road in front of the sheds and it was pretty easy to spot.

Bit dissapointing no one really showed up.

Big thanks to Steve and anyone else who helped for the BBQ and drinks.

Cheers

Ric

was a good day, had issues with missing badly (vacuum leak), so meant i couldnt go hard on the straights. besides that worked out most handling and braking issues, need harder springs and shocks, SK's GB just isnt enough i dont think, great for the road but showing its weakness on the track with grippy tires.

got the old lady out there in the gold VT, that was good for a laugh :)

yeah thanks to those that turned up and too those that said they were coming and didn't everyone else can say WD to you cause i wont organise that again

thanks for organising the BBQ mate, you bought so much shit its a shame bugger all ppl rocked up after saying they would :)

yeah shame about that vac leak... I bet your knock sensors were working over time

watched you do a lot of laps... car doesnt look like its suffering from lack of spring rate or under dampering issues... it does look more to be a wheel alignment/tyre pressure issue, and maybe push the car a little harder into turn 1 :D FWIW theres minimal body roll on the car considering you were running semi's

Yeh we were there, we parked on the grass section tho! Celica was having a few overheating temps, well what we thought 100deg was a bit hot, but once it hit 100-110 it didn't really go much higher! Track was shithouse tho, oil down at turn 3 and so windy, we were a solid 1 and a half seconds off normal pace, still got a flat 19 but were really looking towards 17s, but hey with this weather cant ask for too much! we even put new springs in th rear which help some of our handeling/understeer!!

Would have come over but we were busy trying different sus setups!!

How did that zip tie hold up Steve??

    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
