The only thing That would come ANYWHERE NEAR the VR is a Z-tune..

Even then, it would still get is arse handed to it..

or.. would it?

Yes the GTR has titanium this.. bollocks that.. electronic jizz control..

But the Z-tune is still pretty hardcore!..

I mean Nimso poured 5mm of Carbon fiber on the floor plan to stiffen it it..

it uses a the GT500 race engine..

Carbon fiber pannels all round..

10.04 or something like that quarter mile..

Same power.. not sure about torque..

I think the Z-tune is ligher..

The gear changes wont be as quick in the Z-tune as in the GTR.. but.. could a Z-tune make up for this?

hmm.. discuss.. im curious..

I am almost sure, I think perhaps if the work to upgrade the engine RB26DETT much better than the engine VR38DETT! !

Because LINE ENGINE IS BETTER FROM V ENGINE !!!!!!!!!

In what way?? Have you seen someone modify the VR38 yet??

And what makes you say an inline motor is better than a V engine??

A 'V' engine is much stronger and stiffer than an inline engine...

Can you back up your comments with facts???

It be appreciated muchly from you....

The unfortunately reality is that the inline 6 has probably had its day. The packaging benefits of the V6 makes them a better proposition for the run of the mill car companies - particularly those running transverse installations. Even in longitudinal ones the gains are there in making the car easier to engineer for crash worthiness.

But to defend the old inline six (Which I have a soft spot for) they have the following advantages over their bent up brethren:

* Inherent first and second order balance - the V6's either run funny vee angles or need an extra balance shaft.

* Easier packaging when you turbo charge the motor.

* More room on the axhaust side which allows better cooling for the turbo chargers etc.

* Cheaper head castings as you only need two cam shafts & on head.

* They sound much nicer.

how easy would it be to take out the TT setup and throw in a, lets say T51R SPL onto an engine like that (VR)? Maybe compare it to a 300zx engine...I have never had experience with that...is there enough space...how does it all compare to throwing a t51r on a 26 ?

================================================================

I have no experience with the engine VR38DETT to you that expectation proved largely true! !

Despite the dramatic difference in STROKER! !

But in terms of the experience of the RB20DET and RB25DET and RB26DETT is better in all respects use or promotion or maintenance or endurance is much better too! ! !

There is no engine V6 6 Slander advantage proved successful only relatively Tourqu be a little better and I say this advantage! ! !

But respects mentioned above inline much better health and days will prove myself! ! Despite the size difference stroker !!!!!!!

NOTE: inline engine only for the 6 slander !! V ENGINE GOOD ON THE V8 ONLY !! OR MORE!!!

Thanks ALL .[/b][/size]

What race engine are you referring to?

If it's the GT500 from SuperGT, then your probably wrong, cause they have been using a V engine in these for many years in the 350Z and a few seasons in the R34's before that.

If it's the GT500 engine from way back when the R34's first came out( In JGTC), then that's a pretty old engine, and I'd still take the VR over it any day.

the z-tune costs a lot more and will be a collectors item. The R35 will be mass produced. If I was to chose b/w to two, Id go the z-tune.

    • I was 99% sure the standard one is long enough to get there, you might just have to change the throttle orientation. If not, I remember someone having used an r31 cable instead, but that is probably harder to find than r33 by now...
    • HELP   Hey all, Is there an accelerator cable from another Nissan that can be used on the R33 GTST RB25DET with a Greddy forward facing plenum?  Thanks in advance  Rob
    • Or do we think it was installed to give 1 bar of boost max, all day, everyday?
    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
