Go the GT35R... love mine... I have the external gated version with 0.63 rear.. my cat is melted atm (flow issues..lol) and being fixed on Friday with a retune - currently has 270rwkw on 15-16 psi (plenty to go) .... compared to the 263rwkw I had with the slide hi-flow the power delivery is completely different... you wont regret it.. :P . Its available in the IW version ... or if you want to retain the low mount setup GT30R or HKS equivalent perhaps..

Was heading out Wednesday to WSID to see the difference... but I think it will keep raining :D

When do you see full boost?

i want something where i can make about 270 on like 16 psi

HKS GTRS, HKS 2835pro s (GT 3071). These two will let you get 270rwkw or even 300 rwkw then after that more things will start making noises.

Or if u want a cheap turbo, go get some Made in China or Korea brand like hypergear turbos. I wouldn't even go near a turbo that has been on a truck?!?!?

id be checking that motor out before u put a new turbo on

drop ur oil or atleast check ur filter for bits of metal. fingers crossed it hasnt lunched ur motor, but its highly possible

go something garrett based, 30XX like nismoid said. that way u can use the std manifold.

When do you see full boost?

ummmmz will check! lol .... only had it back since Saturday after months & months! Its comes into positive pressure @ 3000rpm that I knows ! ... il post the dyno sheet up on friday once the complete tune is done...

Before it shat itself (ecu) it used to be on full boost by just before 4000rpm from memory.....

^^^^

Thanks Doof ! Il put the results up in the dyno results thread or whateva it is for the RB25's and throw a link in here at the same time.. that way i wont be cluttering up this thread!

why did I open this thread! d'oh.

R33GOD - have they found out why yet or havent had a chance to look at it?

Ive asked my tuner to set boost to around 14psi to be safe!

hope my hiflow is all good!

Sorry to hear though mate, its gotta suck

zilch's set up sounds good mate!

i havent sent it up yet. im in the process of nearly removing it. its busted up pretty bad. front wheel is minced and major shaft play. on the dyno when it was tuned, the max boost it hits was 17.7 psi then drops down to 16.

i think this problem was brewing for abit now as i had made 240 rwk at 14 then 3 weeks later at 16psi where i got 231

ive got pics but im at work so i cant post them up.

yet to inspect the rear of the turbo as the exhaust is on still.

it has put me off upping the boost above 14

i have. everything is clean and i got a new z32 afm. everything was tight. mate, it just stopped boosting and couldnt hear anything go bang. just a little tick. wasnt at full boost either

just a faulty turbz :)

the comp wheel doesnt distroy itself thats the prob... something has made contact with it while at full RPM ... all it takes is some sand or dirt... have you checked the air filter properly?

i wouldnt say it looks like something has hit it, looks more like it has broken and spun around in there causing that damage

    • Hang on. Let me get this straight. The desire is to have coilovers, BC in particular, to be MORE comfortable on Sydney roads than stock suspension? Well, that's obviously not right. BCs have crude damping design at the very best, and typically hard spring rates. BC stands for Billy Cart. And then, the desire is to put in some shitty old worn out stockers, to get it blue slipped and then put the BCs back in? And then.....what? Not worry about getting pulled up by the Plod? Because you seem to have raised a worry about paying for engineering (which actually does solve all your legality problems) and still getting pulled up.... but the only problem there is that if/when that happens you have to show your paperwork at the inspection station. Whereas, if you just swap in borrowed shitty old stockers to get it slipped now, and then you get defected in the future, you have to go find more shitty old stockers then too. You course of action looks like this set of options: Buy brand new stock type dampers, and springs. probably cost a bit more than $1k all up, but will last for the remaining life of the car. Put them in, pass inspection, drive on them forever more. Hell, they could even be really nice Bilsteins and Kings or other lower&stiffer springs if you wanted. Get the car engineered as is. ~$1k. Buy new Shockworks coilvers (or MCA) and also pay for engineering. You're spending a lot more here. But these will be the best things that you could drive around on.
    • Might be worthwhile hitting up Facebook's groups, I know most of them contain terrible people and scammers - however you might be able to find someone that's in Sydney with factory suspension you could purchase and/or hire. Just do not send any form of money anywhere, in person cash only.
    • Thanks @Duncan Ride height is fine. I think it's almost stock tbh. Happy to share a pic. I don't actually have a regular mechanic as haven't lived in Sydney too long. Could you or anyone recommend any shops in Sydney?
    • You just need a different blue slip shop (preferably one you regularly use as a mechanic), and make sure the coil overs are as close as possible to standard height
    • yeah the sugar refining companies were pushing for the same in Oz originally, all fuels were going to have 10% ethanol to make them "cheaper" (noting, that the loss in l/100 might be greater than the decrease in price). I guess they won that fight in Canadia
