i could have got a 32 for the same price as i got my 33 for, but the 33's have a better body style,32 looks too squared and flat, for my taste anyway, each to their own choice of car

^^ i dont think there is that many r32 owners who weren't in that position.

I still think some 33 gt'r are nice though :verymad:

i LOVED my R33 to pieces... the p plate laws made me sell and buy an R32... which i learnt to love!

both great cars, if only you could combine all great things from the both!

i found the 33 alot more comfortable.. and NEW! ,.... sitting inside the r32 reminded me that i was driving a really old car!

and then having to replace the engine and gearbox reminded my wallet that i was driving a really old car :)

lol

haha perfect quote...

depends on taste i guess.. How is it sad? Paying more for a car you prefer is never sad in my books..

I f**king hate 33's to tell u the truth :verymad: can't stand the styling, for me r32 GTR > everything hehe

Haha soon there is going be a SAU war between the R32 drivers and the R33 drivers :verymad: But in the end the R34 owners would drive past knowing that they win the battle anyway.

Even though in my post I expressed my opinion about not being thrilled about the body shape of the R33 (I believe I said it reminds me of a commodore or falcon :) ) to see that some other R32 owners feel the same way basically sums up this post. Even though some people are asking the same amount of money for a R32 then a R33 alot of the time the price will be talked down (it is the same story with R33 prices) and if you factor in import costs and such people aren't really making that much money from selling a R32 for around 12k (which is commonly the going price after talking down the price). Whenever a car is advertise people always add a couple of grand on top of what they are expecting to recieve it is not because they are "Dreamers" it is basically because they know people will try to talk them down in price which is what almost always happens and at the end the day the seller gets the amount they wanted and the buyer gets the feel good about themself for being able to knock off some money from the purchase price. Which is why you should always try to knock off some money from a car unless you are happy to pay the amount that it is advertised for.

At the end of the day we all love our skylines no matter what model it is and I think the R32 has hit its baseline for a little while now and prolly wont be pushed down too much further. R33's are now getting cheaper because of there age and with R34's getting older pushing there prices down which in return pushes R33 prices down.

I still remember not too long ago (a couple of years) when a R32 GTS-T common price was around 17k and a R33 GTS-T was 24k and I believe at that time the R34 GT-T was chasing around 40k. Now look at your prices R32 GTS-T 10-12k, R33 (12-17k) and R34 GT-T(25-30k).

i got a little bored after the 3 pages but . there several things i learned about a car and buying over the years.

- not an assest. (very rarely will you get more than you pay'd for.. unless importing ect..)

-depreciation is different on all cars due to what the market wants

-people ask alot , people pay alot and visa versa.

I think personally, that skylines hold their value quiet well, sure they depreciate and it seems that the 32 is fetching around the same price as the 33. But if theres more demand for a 32 (esp in VIC) then the price will rise.

just feel lucky were not driving Commonwhores and Falcoons,

brought my VS exec for like 11k back in the day, sold it for 4k 2 years later....

and i feel for all those people who payed like 20k for VTs ect.. and like a year later there fetching for 12 or even 10.. thats ridiclous!

How bout those poor bastards that bought a s1 vt ss and got the 185kw 5l gas guzzlin 1.85 ton anchor and then like 3 months later they bring out the s2 and it has the 5.7 225 kw ls1

you may as well pay an extra $2 or 3K more and get a 32 GT-R

now there's a ridiculous situation

well said...the money GTST owners want is a bit optimistic...They are are getting old and smokey these days...R33s are still a bit fresher or bite the bullet and go the GTR for me

^^ some people (namely myself) didn't want 4wd, didn't like the look/feel/size of a 33 and really enjoy the dynamics of the 32 gtst. The only thing is lacks is torque.. hence the RB30 :(

A few of my mates have 33's and everytime I get in the passenger or drivers seat of one, it reinforces how much I love my 32.

One of those mates wanted a 32 but due to financial reasons had to go with the CHEAPER s1 33.

    • Drilled the rubber out on a slow speed and it didn't catch much at all. Probably only half a dozen holes was enough to shred the rubber and it dropped off easily leaving the inner sleeve behind. Will tackle that later
    • I havent bought a manual cover for the dash yet and no cluster change, won't bother me too much, I just need to get that auto box gone, manual in! I miss my manual. 🤪. We started last weekend and managed to get the box out. Planning to start putting it in this weekend and then order a single piece tail. We were super careful to take time and not damage anything. It's my first time working under the car.  With my S15 mainly worked in the bay. This time, it was a headache because of three or four bolts only. They simply didnt want to leave thei homr and the one securing the tailshaft, another above the GB, and the one securing the lipstick was a shit. Mates mate, Davo caught fire 🤣, nearly opened his chest up with a grinder 🤦🏽‍♂️ and both mates nearly had a plate from the box land and slit their head open. Fun times. We all survived. Not the easiest working with limited access on jackstands. As I'm sure we can agree these are the memories which make us love our car. For all three of us, was an awesome weekend and Sunday 3.30am before tools down was a fantastic effort. I need to upload pics, but looks like it needs to be via Url now. We used to be able to just upload pics back in the day. It's been that long! 🤪 Im currently spraying rustoleum under body, not because it's rusted. It's super clean, but just so it's protected for the next 10 years. There was a few surface rust spots. Which pretty much wiped off with a 3M scourer.  Really impressed with how well the previous owner maintained it. Bank account went down so quick! Service, then GB - managed to get a spanking new 34 genuine box from Nissan. All the rest of the conversion parts from Kudos.  Went with a Nismo short shifter. New pedals and Exedy Clutch and FW. Ordered the Prp Rear Main Retainer kit which should arrive Friday and my first engine mod part just like I did with my S15 will be the Tomei Expreme Turbo Outlet. Already on order. It'll likely sleep next to me on a pillow during the coming months. 🥰 Last build was on my JET200GT profile and on SAU and Hardtuned I had documented the build. Planning to try to do that again. Brands feel scarce now. Wish we still had ARC and Apexi parts readily available. Exhaust - need some advice on this. I had an Apexi exhaust on the S15 and loved the tone. My mate had a HKS HP Silent on his 33 and suggested I go with that to avoid drone. I can't remember hearing an RB25DET running that so will likely need to wait for a meet or something to hear it.  Not after big power, just enjoy building it, and drivability with minimal negative attention.
    • Have a chat with Ben at Moore Performance or Jesse at JS Performance.
    • Thanks both. All good advice. Reminds me of drilling through stone wall for drainage pipe 😬 I'll let you know how I get on if I still have use of my hands afterwards 😅
    • Finally got shipping number for the intake and throttle body, shipped by UPS, so "should" be in my hands sometime next week, fingers fracking crossed
