OK just like naming a workshop is not allowed, neither are personal attacks.

d0p3y and Uwish, or anyone else who wants to start something, it will be a banning.

Dom,

we all know there are TWO sides to this story.

A GTR for 12k lol You a silly for buying it!

You shouold start telling the truth.

Were you kept in formed the whole way? Thought so.

How long does it take to pull GTR TTs off?

You should really settle the matter before crying on a public forum

12k for a skyline is great.I am assuming its a race only import.Beats spending all the extra for a road going version if you only intend on hitting the track

is it Dogs Race Cats?

gl with your court case mate, bend them over and f**k them good. (not literally)

Apart from being wrong, you are trying to circumvent some clear rules with your post. Don't do it.

Hey I'm interested to know something -

(without being a smart ass) how is spreading the word via PM any different from posting it in a thread?? Due to the fact the information is obviously available to anyone who requests a PM, it's seemingly as freely available as simply posting it in a thread. Since people have mentioned that they have received the PM with the shop name in the thread here, would that in turn mean legal implications for those involved?? Or is it ok due to the fact they cannot prove which name was infact mentioned in the private message?? anyone in the know able to clarify??

Ryan i believe a PM would be OK, cos its not up for public display in the main thread in black an white for every1 and any1 to see. Hence no public defamation.

On the other hand surely theres a disclaimer saying that SAU cannot be held responsible and views and opinions of users do not neccessarily represent those of SAU?

Hmmm i just checked and can't find any disclaimer like this...actually quite the opposite, in sau guidlines it says all post are property of the poster AND SAU. I can see why the moderators are so anal about this now.

At 12.47 PM on Monday 3 December 2007 a Default Judgement for liquidated claim was entered at the Parramatta Local Court, Small Claims Division.

In case Number 2410/07:

The judgement entered in favour of the Plaintiff (me) against the defendant (a tuner) for an amount of $3553.19 plus $73.00 court costs.

This is 100% of what I was requesting as I was happy to pay for anything that I had been advised of and quoted beforehand.

Id say the matter should end here and hopefully this gives others encouragement to seek redress when they are hard done by. I was not greedy and I volunteered to pay for whatever is fair and the tuner should be happy as he got everything he had quoted and sought approval for.

I did not ask the court for interest on the overpaid amount, I did not ask for a reprieve for paying the whole bill, I still paid nearly $3,000 for a good few hour work and parts, which I feel comfortable with.

I think the most important lesson is, Dont accept any reccomendation on a forum or even from "friends" in person. I personally am assisted (in my Charity and racing endeavours) by Castrol Oil and SRF, Winford and Alto Ford, Express Glass and CHU insurance So perhaps I am blind to the costing and quality of their fantastic service. I have often reccommended these guys to others. So I am as guillty as anyone else on this forum of being a little biased.

What happens next is they have 28 days to pay me or lodge an appeal in a higher court.

Congrats man! Well done on doing what a lot of people wouldn't, not taking sh1t from bodgey idiots.

That is a good result!

And kudos as well for not being greedy! I hate reading stories where people take people to court and try and get more money than they should.

Good work and again, sorry that you went through that experience, and it does help/show others that the little guy can still win :(

Congrats on the result. Granville? Ok I'd like a PM too now please, that's too close for comfort!

BTW, did they even show up to the hearing or send a rep?

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
    • The annoying part about neglect, is when you start to replace one thing, and find ten more broken things. Ham fisted monkey repairs you normally only find out about when trying to do something unrelated! Ha ha   Neglect you can kind of anticipate the huge costs to fix it all. Ham fistedness is normally a shock the first time your work on a new old car, as everything "looked" good before.
