WHAT DO YOU THING ABOUT THIS STATEMENT

Even Clarkson from Top Gear Magazine, Jan 08 issue.

"The GT-R hasn't just moved the goalposts, it's obliterated them. For all-round ability, I have no doubt the Nissan is the best car I have ever driven."

"The GTR turns in beautifully, whether neutral or under brakes, and grips forever. Slippery surfaces seem to bring out the best in it. Time after time I left Turner in the 911 Turbo behind as my four-wheel-drive system and traction control worked better out of wet corners. It wasn't just the fact that I could get on the power earlier. It was about confidence."

The Nissan really is something special, and you get the impression that while a master driver could wring every last ounce of performance out of the 911, your mother could do the same in the GT-R."

"Does the Nissan's ability reduce the driving pleasure? Not at all. You can turn all the systems off if you so choose, and it's still supremely well balanced, no doubt a delight for a racing driver on a track."

This is coming from Jeremy Clarkson, who has driven the most exotic and best cars in the world: Bugatti Veyron, Koenigsegg CCX, Ultima GT-R, Ferrari Enzo, Lamborghini Murcialago LP640, Porsche Carerra GT, Porsche GT-3 RS, Ferrari F430 Scuderia, Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, etc...

Not bad for a $70k car...

Bring on the haters...

In America Motor Trend says the same thing about the Corvette in the states.

Does not sound like something Clarkson would say though does it... unless how he acts on TV is an act... you'd nearly expect him to say something like

"The Nisan GTR is not a car... oh no... its the Millenium Falcon and the other supercars are Tie-fighters, where the GTR has one mission in life.. to destroy the death star... oh yes thats right people..... the GTR is coming for the 911 Turbo and as I sit here looking out the side window coming through chicago sideways, I dare say that darth vader and his cronies from stutgart had better be worried...... very worried indeed."

... or there abouts :action-smiley-069:... hands up who watched starwars on the wekeend >_<

Star Wars FTW, and yes, I could see Clarkson saying exactly that, not sure about the sideways bit though :action-smiley-069:

Fixed for timing. :action-smiley-069:

Not only did Clarksonsaid it but he wrote it to. In the Jan issue of Top Gear Magazine and in America's Motor Trend Magazine said the same for the Corvette.

In America the new GTR will be less then a 911 but more then a M3 which will be around 70K to 80K.

This way they are have clear market for themseleves.

In Australia we will get royal F..K with regards to our price of the GTR.

I put up a link to show you he said it..find that link

in the US its gonna be priced pretty much identical to the Z06, and it makes pretty much similar power figures and lap times. It's gonna be TOIGHT over there.

Clarkson mentioned in the latest episode of Top Gear that aired in the UK that he is eagerly awaiting to drive the new GTR and expected it to be brilliant.

Clarkson loves GT-Rs. Stop being such skeptics and go find the old test he did when the R34 GTR was new on an airport runway.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
