Hi Everyone

We're conducting a High Performance Training and Track Driving Day at Sandown on Saturday 9th Feb 2008

We will be running the day as an 'open pit lane' day, but we will also have 4 qualified (Certificate 3 and 4) instructors with lots of experience.

We also provide lunches, tea / coffee / soft drinks / cake !!, flaggies and Racesafe medical / rescue crew.

You do not need a CAMS or ASSA licence to participate in our High Performance Training and Track Driving Days

The format we run to is: 3 groups of ten drivers, twenty minutes of track time per hour.

Start time is 8.30 am for safety briefing, track is open from 9.00 am until 4.00pm

Cost is $295.00 per driver.

If you would like to come along please let me know via email [email protected] or call me 0413 540 197

Please dont send me a pm.

Regards

Kev

hey emsta if you come glue your sump plug on so i dont in to the first turn at 170km/h and find out i got no traction ;)

hope to see you there mate

ehhehe...will do man :P

should be ok now, just a few little issues to sort out, hopefully will be done by then

cant wait to get on sandown again :P

What is the focus of the day? I mean, i have a lot of trouble brakign consistantly without locking up brakes. Im sure learning the proper technique will help me stop the car as quick as possible without flat spotting tyres....Is this the sort of day for such tutelage?

bugger!! not sure if i can afford to do both this one and the Jan 19th one  i think i would prefer to do this one... although the Jan 19th one would probably be more beneficially from a car control point of view....

decisions, decisions......

i know both wil be great days, but i'm not sure i can afford to go to both that's all :(

decision is whether to go to the 'safer' day (as in training) or go to the 'fun' day....

can i just say i'll get car control training on this track day? :D

How does insurance go for these kinda days? if you break it, you pay for it?

the fun day - just cars said that my car will be insured for it, as its being held by a driving school

i assume thats the same for the training one , but i will have to find out

hey Matt get that in writing mate. as i am pretty sure if the training day involves speed more than the roads (50-60kph) they dont cover. i called them last year and was told by the girl on the phone (i actually got her to confirm it from her sup) even kev's other training day they didnt want to cover as it was bieng held on a part of sandown, even though it is defensive driving.

    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow
    • Good luck on the weekend mate

    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
