Exhaust Goes Pop! When I Drive...please Help!

Ive just put in a Cat back exhaust recently 2 days ago, and its standard everything even the cat and dump...I dunno if its running rich or anything but definitely its not backfiring cuz the exhaust underneath the car goes "POP!" occassionally and pretty often when i drive even normally...Occurs randomly but more often when i let go off throttle, but i can assure you the sounds not coming from the back of the exhaust tip...its somewhere around where the cat is underneath the car.

What could it be guys?? im very irritated...Did i blow something?

its just your exhaust popping . you didnt notice it before with the stock exhaust . is nothing to worry about . all of my imports have done it

Mine gets that same pop from up near the turbo (I know why mine sounds from up there though... )

And it's nothing to worry about.

It's just the normal backfire.

You might have an air leak at one of the joins in the pipe. Check all the bolts for tightness.

try using a gasket such as maniseal as well as the metal gaskets. smear some on both sides of the gasket when you install.

the popping is from oxygen contacting the hot unburnt fuel- ie you have a leak somewhere.

Could it be related to the new BOV i put in as well? as i put in BOV 2 days right after Cat Back Exhaust.

Put the stocker BOV back on and see if it fixes it, ill bet it does, and your fuel economy.

mines doing that n i know that there is a small leak in one of my inlet pipes to the turbo. gasket , so prob the same symptoms

Also re-set your ECU as it will improve power and economy with the new exhaust

Ah as i was driving whilst being scattered from yesterday night, occassionally it goes POP! again underneath the exhaust system more to where the cat would be or the front end rather than the TIP of the exhaust....is this still called a "backfire"???? So that its normal?

nothin to worry about it man. mine does it too. special trick....run in the car really hard. get the exhaust hot. and await some flammage...best with a de-cat tho.

take off ground. turn lights on (drains ALL charge).

stand on brake for 10sec or more. turn off lights and reconnect earth

my car does this with standard everything. It seems to be a symptom of running 98 RON fuel, I get better performance and less popping (but not quite eliminated) running 100 RON. If only I was made of money

i got the same issues. i just fixed a vee port BOV n since then, there theres a pop every now and then

every keep saying its normal. just wondering if its safe for the car. not really concerned about the fuel econ

Atmo venting bov will cause the small backfires on de-cellaration.

it's because it is overfueling temporarily.

You car might even stall on the odd occasion when comming to a stop at lights or something due to the same reason.
