Cheers. Well, up until recently I had a BMI of 17. I've been put on anti-depressants and I have started putting on weight, but it's all fat. I have very low testosterone, which my endocrinologist attributes to my wight being so low, which makes it hard to put on any muscle. I've also been told that I shouldn't be doing any high impact exercise, and I just thought creatine may help.

White GTST - if you are referring to lexapro as your medication then you "should" be ok. a lot of the pre workout supplements such as NO Xplode to contain creatine aswell, however high doses of caffeine does not do well with lexapro, so please stay away from the pre workout supplements with creatine in them.

I don't get why BMI is still used.

Such a waste of time.

Anyway, back to your low test levels.

Are you suitable for TRT?

A friend of mine use to be about 80kg.

Was always obsessed with getting cut and lower fat percentage etc.

Months go by and no one hears from him.

Checks in to a forum we use to frequent and starts a "hey guys i've got an issue" thread.

posts a photo of his current self.

42kg skin and bones.

Anyway, months and months of trying to eat more, he sees a doc, his test levels are non existent.

Basically he broke himself.

Anyway, doc started him on some oral tablet to stabilise his hormones.

Not TRT but something.

Fast forward a year and he is 100kg and well in to powerlifting.

Important part is to see if you can get some meds.

I was in a similar situation. I went into the endocrinologist's office expecting to be started on TRT but after he weighed me at 55kg he told me not to come back until I was at least 60kg. I'm nearly there now and my next appointment is in 4 weeks so I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

How tall are you man? BMI of 17 at 55kg i'm assuming you're pretty tall. There's nothing wrong with supplementing creatine into your diet; it works for some people but not for others so the best advice anyone can give you is to try it for yourself

What are your goals Tim? That's the first place to start when giving you advice.

Are you trying to get faster at swimming? Trying to gain lean muscle? Just gain weight in general? Powerlift? Bodybuild?

Basically i'm just trying to get my life sorted and get fit an healthy again. I obviously need to put on weight but i'm struggling to come to terms with the fat i've put on, which I attribute mostly to my meds. It would be nice to put on some extra muscle but without doing resistance training, which i have been advised against, and my very low T levels I guess it's just wishful thinking.

body weight training if you cant use heavier plates

don't waste your time with sit ups. if you wanna hit your core/abs hard try hanging pike.

push ups, pull/chin ups, dips etc you'd be surprised at how many different workouts you can do using nothing but your body weight

you should also try different forms for every one of em, there are a million different ways you can do a push up...

I know people who have naturally low testosterone and supplement it with prescription drugs like testogel - they have seen good results from this.

Situps are great, I owe my abs to them. But you have to do them properly (they are one of the most difficult exercises to do strictly) and have low enough body fat to see the results.

I'm confident that I will be started on the TRT at my next appointment. We spoke about it at my last visit and he said If I was to start I would would be given the rub in gel. Unfortunately, the first place the weight gain was visible was around my mid section, so my abs are now less pronounced. But I know it's for the best.

dude your 55kg... forget about seeing your abs and just get healthy/strong first... you almost sound like someone with an eating disorder... hours of plodding up and down a pool aren't going to help you put on muscle either... swimming is great for rehab but for getting stronger you need to work in some resistance training... not saying don't swim, as its great but mix it up a bit

seriously, your taller than me but only a couple of kg heavier than my wife... and she's super petite!

nobody recommended any of those lifts... the only suggestion was some body weight stuff

but yeah... internet forums are never a good place to get your medical advice

a little off topic but here's something to discuss: should athletes be granted exemptions to use TRT if diagnosed with low testosterone by a doctor? considering the use of T is illegal in most sports...

You also want to learn to weld and machine. If you still want to do this then you'll nominally have the knowledge to actually do what you're thinking of doing. Whether you still want to do any of that once you've actually gone through that process is anybody's guess. Personally I cannot imagine anything more frustrating than trying to package a supercharger under the hood of any of these cars when the turbos are already fighting for every last inch.
    • That's a function of the fuel pressure reg, not the pump. The pump can do more, needs to be able to do more. The reg keeps the pressure in the rail constant above whatever the manifold pressure is.
    • You need enough post count to have PMs enabled. It will come. They are not the same. The NA box is the skinny little box and the turbo box is the big heavy one, and the yokes are not interchangeable.
    • So, you're not talking about rebuilding the dampers, just putting new tops on them? You just need new tops and a spanner.
    • Hi All, Does anyone know how or who (shop) could rebuild my original R32 GTR Nismo struts? These are the OG logo ones that were a factory option back in the day. I've replaced them with aftermarket coilovers which are good, but the OG Nizmo struts tha i bought the car with i feel are amazing, just the rubber tops are worn and would need replacing... Plus it would make it 100 time easier for me to get the GTR fully engineered without adjustable coilovers... I was considering selling the OG suspension, but if i can get them rebuild / refurbished, I would seariously put them back on. Cheers, Tom   p.s. I'm in Sydney by the way and don't mind travelling if need be to get these puppies rebuilt.
