A little bit out from my first guess  but inline with Birds estimate!!!

Hey would ya look at that :D

Think about it though, it you can drop ~7/8kg and end up with 10% bf (assuming some small muscle loss at the same time), you'll look super lean and retain ~95% of your strength for a good power to weight ratio. Not such a bad statistic to keep track of :)

Let's not forget the table that GTSBOY( I think) posted a few weeks ago, just because a supplements states it has a certain amount of protein doesnt mean squat.. Your lucky if your getting 90% of what it says it has.. I'm switching over to optimum nutrition, 1 cause it actually has most of what it says it does and 2 if tastes awesome

Btw, just like setting a track/drag car up properly, it's all the 1%ers that make the difference in the end..

Lets not forget not even 5% of the products on the market were tested :)

They didn't test BN, so you can't say it's bad/misleading. I know a lot of guys that compete, that tell me BN = way to go (from a price point)... Trust 140kg builders over a dude with a spreadsheet :)

Never said anything about BN.. Just pointing out that there is alot of rubbish out there on the market..

Changed my mind again, I'll be swapping to ISOFLEX.. A Good mate of mine recommended it.. No he's not 140kg.. He's just 137 :)

I'm taking ON protein. Called Hydrobuilder - chocolate flavour. Bit on the expensive side but I've always taken ON products.

As I've mentioned in an earlier post, strong stimulants give you the bad "coming off" effect. Long term useage means your body adapts to it then you need to increase the dosage but at the same time you start to depend on it to the point where you hit a threshold. When I use my Pre, it doesn't have any DMAA so you don't feel jacked up then just crash. Nevetheless, still require on and off periods.

Also the whole post workout insulin spike thing is true and does have good benefits but for your average joe blow then it doesn't matter. You still can yield some decent results. Someone like me who is type 1 Diab, can use any amout of insulin for it's anabolic effect providing that I ingest enough fast acting carbs when your body is most depleted. Insulin helps feed your muscle being a very powerful hormone but at the same time can make you fat.

I wish I never took a pre-workout supp, become too dependant on them now, Anyway I made some protein bars for the first time last night, they seemed set this morning but I'll check them out when I get home - better be good lol.

if you snatched 100kg like that I'd be fckn impressed... I can barely power clean and push press my own bodyweight... and its not pretty lol

I was reading an article that was talking about strength goals for athletes (not powerlifters, weightlifters or strong men etc) so have been trying for these goals

Push

Body weight bench press for 15 reps - tried over the weekend, only got 12 and last rep was a bit suspect :(

Pull

15 pull-ups - easy, can do 20

Squat

Body weight squat for 15 reps - hard work, can do 20 though

Hinge

Double body weight deadlift - did 180kg at 82kg bodyweight

Loaded Carry (Farmer Walk) 40 metres

Body weight per hand - haven't tried this one, will have to find a space but it sounds bloody difficult... would have to work up to it I imagine

Yer but I do have a pretty low BF. I also think I have a good power/weight ratio if you take into account my height. What do you weigh at the moment, Nick? Farmer walk sounds tough...I think my grip would let go on that one before the legs give out. Just carrying the 32.5's back to the racks after a set of incline dumbells is taxing on it's own.

Have stepped up behind neck mlitary press to 50kg x 10 on the 4th/5th/6th sets - another exercise that I neglected to move up in weight (45kg x 10 for the last 4-5 years). Going to shoot for 55kg x 10 soon and the end goal is to work my way up to a full set of 10 x bodyweight. Another 30kg to go, gonna be tough lol.

Sort of related: what is it called when you pick the barbell up off the ground and in one single motion sweep it up to above your head? This is the way I pick up a barbell when I am starting a military press set. I thought it was some variation of the clean/snatch, but on googling these, they all involve a squat movement at some point...I'm literally deadlifting it from the ground to above my head in one.

82-83kg... but carrying a few kilos of fat I could probably do without...l probably somewhere between 15-20%

it doesn't really have a name, I think you just invented it lol... you can do a hang snatch which is kinda what your doing... that's where you start with the bar just below your knees, bent at the waist like your half way through a DL and then you straighten and throw the bar above your head in one motion

next time you pick the bar up off the ground try and clean or snatch it... obviously start with a very light weight until you get the motion down... then you can work in two exercises into the one set... snatch the bar to above your head, lower then press it, lower it back to just below your knees, snatch it above our head again etc

We will call it the Birds clean! Looked up hang snatch and that sounds kind of similar. I actually described what I do inaccurately, before...there are actually two movements to what I do in preparation for military press. I deadlift the barbell off the ground, take a couple steps back...dip the barbell and bend knees a bit in a bit of a spring motion, then upright row / thrust it with my whole body to the top of a military press movement. Might have to video this one lol.

Sounds like a good full body exercise but I do squats on the same day and my military press is done very strictly...don't really want to incorporate other motions into it.

lol @ vid, thought meh 70kg, will be there soon enough...then the 100kg put me in my place lol.

yeah I did the same thing, then he cruised the 100kg up without any struggle... bit of a beast really!

when its cold and I don't feel like training I start with a barbell complex... rule is your not allowed to rest or put the weight down between exercises... usually something like RDL, into bent over rows, into power cleans, into overhead press, into back or front squat... pick a weight that you can do the hardest exercise with (usually OHP) and do 6 or 7 of each... 30-40kg will make you hate life... good for us guys who need to burn off a few more calories;) probably not necessary for you lean bastards lol

Yeah that sounds like a full body workout / HIIT all in one lol.

probably not necessary for you lean bastards lol

Speaking of lean bastards, it's been a while since I've gayed up the thread with a selfie...56k and homo warning!

I've been cutting up a bit lately and this is where I'm at. Trying to get in shape for fitness model comps, for which another 2-3% less fat should do the trick. Oddly enough, I weigh much the same as before the cut (it hasnt been an aggressive cut), leading me to believe that leg muscle gains are countering the fat loss (I hope so anyway).

How'm I doin fellas?

Shave your chest bruv! You have good abdominal genetics it seems, pretty much perfectly lined up splits in the muscle. Bit of a shitty angle for a pic though tbh, you should upload the standard mirror shot standing up to show proper fat % (orlackof).

    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
    • Hi,  Just joined the forum so I could share my "fix" of this problem. Might be of use to someone. Had the same hunting at idle issue on my V36 with VQ35HR engine after swapping the engine because the original one got overheated.  While changing the engine I made the mistake of cleaning the throttle bodies and tried all the tricks i could find to do a throttle relearn with no luck. Gave in and took it to a shop and they couldn't sort it. Then took it to my local Nissan dealership and they couldn't get it to idle properly. They said I'd need to replace the throttle bodies and the ecu probably costing more than the car is worth. So I had the idea of replacing the carbon I cleaned out with a thin layer of super glue and it's back to normal idle now. Bit rough but saved the car from the wreckers 🤣
    • After my last update, I went ahead with cleaning and restoring the entire fuel system. This included removing the tank and cleaning it with the Beyond Balistics solution, power washing it multiple times, drying it thoroughly, rinsing with IPA, drying again with heat gun and compressed air. Also, cleaning out the lines, fuel rail, and replacing the fuel pump with an OEM-style one. During the cleaning process, I replaced several hoses - including the breather hose on the fuel tank, which turned out to be the cause of the earlier fuel leak. This is what the old fuel filter looked like: Fuel tank before cleaning: Dirty Fuel Tank.mp4   Fuel tank after cleaning (some staining remains): Clean Fuel Tank.mp4 Both the OEM 270cc and new DeatschWerks 550cc injectors were cleaned professionally by a shop. Before reassembling everything, I tested the fuel flow by running the pump output into a container at the fuel filter location - flow looked good. I then fitted the new fuel filter and reassembled the rest of the system. Fuel Flow Test.mp4 Test 1 - 550cc injectors Ran the new fuel pump with its supplied diagonal strainer (different from OEM’s flat strainer) and my 550cc injectors using the same resized-injector map I had successfully used before. At first, it idled roughly and stalled when I applied throttle. Checked the spark plugs and found that they were fouled with carbon (likely from the earlier overly rich running when the injectors were clogged). After cleaning the plugs, the car started fine. However, it would only idle for 30–60 seconds before stalling, and while driving it would feel like a “fuel cut” after a few seconds - though it wouldn’t fully stall. Test 2 – Strainer swap Suspecting the diagonal strainer might not be reaching the tank bottom, I swapped it for the original flat strainer and filled the tank with ~45L of fuel. The issue persisted exactly the same. Test 3 – OEM injectors To eliminate tuning variables, I reinstalled the OEM 270cc injectors and reverted to the original map. Cleaned the spark plugs again just in-case. The stalling and “fuel cut” still remained.   At this stage, I suspect an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, caused during the cleaning process. This has led me to look into getting Frenchy’s fuel hanger and replacing the unit entirely. TL;DR: Cleaned and restored the fuel system (tank, lines, rail, pump). Tested 550cc injectors with the same resized-injector map as before, but the car stalls at idle and experiences what feels like “fuel cut” after a few seconds of driving. Swapped back to OEM injectors with original map to rule out tuning, but the issue persists. Now suspecting an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, possibly cause by the cleaning process.
