^ only for the people who know nothing...but I'm so tempted to write/stick a note on his ad(s) - please show me the evidence that you can achieve site-specific fat loss with exercise and diet changes?

You're not seeing the subjective definition...spot could refer to shedding fat on the spot at the gym. Also the possibility it refers to one big spot...*draws circle around person*

a real BIG man was struggling at the gym today, could see his motivation wasnt there.

went up to him and simply said "think of your body as a toilet roll. work hard and you'll strip off a square each time. you might not see it, but in time the toilet roll becomes depleted; the layers removed." could see him go up a notch after that.

great session today :)

Love hot days like today in the gym - nothing but the dedicated in there.

Damn straight. I remember last summer rocking up to the gym when the aircon wasn't working and seeing that it was 36 degrees inside. Place was nearly deserted. f**k yeah nobody in my squat rack!

good video this, only watched the first part out of three.

Seems like a real cool kind of guy as well in this.

Ripptoe is boss for techniques. Look into wendlers 531 program for strength gains. It doesn't seem like much, but after 6 months and you're still gaining its rewarding.

If you look for 20kg gains in a month you'll probably end up at the same place, lifting same sort of weights with no progress.

Consistency is key imo.

Agree^

Seems to be that oh-so-human-nature trait of wanting everything as fast as possible and then getting it as slow as possible. If you're not using 1.25kg plates because you think it's a pointless increase, you crazy.

I give no f**ks what it looks like squatting with them on the ends of the bar...I've been making my steady increases of 2.5kg a week without dropping reps to accommodate the new weight. Come at me plateau!

what's everyone's thoughts on Albuterex used with Alcar (Acetyl-L-carnitine)

I've gone up 3% in body fat, since August but still the same muscle mass and if anything have increased my workouts, diet is healthy etc

Feel like I need something exta but dont know what.

thanks

Lol i'm sorry but I can't watch a Kai Greene vid after the whole grapefruit thing. The guy is an odd fella.

Wendlers 5/3/1 program looks alright, pretty common sense based, and it's something I might look at doing down the track. No way am I going from starting strength to that though lol... Same lifts for low reps would drive me insane of boredom.

    • No. Turbo shuffle and surge/flutter are not the same thing. Specifically, on a GTR, turbo shuffle has a definite meaning. On a GTR, the twin turbos are assumed to be the same thing and to operate the same way, exactly. In reality, they do not. Their exhaust sides are fed and exhaust a little differently, to each other. Their inlet sides are fed and exhausted a little differently, to each other. Consequently, when they are "working" they are often at slightly different points on the compressor map compared to each other. What this means, particularly when coming on boost, is that one of them will spool up and start producing extra flow compared to the other, which will put back pressure on that other compressor, which will push the operating point on that other compressor up (vertically). This will generally result in it bumping up against the surge line on the map, but even if it doesn't, it upsets the compressor and you get this surging shuffle back and forth between them That is "turbo shuffle" on a GTR. It is related to other flutter effects heard on other turbo systems, but it is a particular feature of the somewhat crappy outlet piping arrangement on RB26s. There are plenty of mods that have been attempted with varying levels of success. People have ground out and/or welded more material into the twin turbo pipe to try to prevent it. Extending the divider inside it works, removing material doesn't. There are aftermarket replacement twin turbo pipes available, and these exist pretty mush purely because of this shuffle problem.
    • You can temporarily* use lock collars to keep it in place until you can do the bushes, back the nuts off, slide them in, snug back up. *temporarily is often for ever
    • Thanks for the quick reply. To be clear, when you say turbo shuffle do you mean turbo flutter "stustustu" or referring to something else? I had thought they were the same thing. When I wrote the post my intention was to say it wasn't a flutter/compression surge sound. My understanding was that a flutter sound would be occurring when throttle is released, whereas I can keep the throttle in the same position for this noise
