That article was designed to elicit that kind of response, hence the question at the end..."do you know of anyone more deserving of the title". It's like ACA recycling their hoon stories...guess who watches them...outraged car clubs. And we link people to the stories on our forums. Free advertising.

Fit is such a broad term too, which is pretty much why everyone has their own idea of what constitutes it. To me it's like calling someone Australian Idol...our country idol is a singer? Gotta remember it's just the title of a crossfit competition and anyone arguing that their sport is more deserving of the title is guilty of the same douchebaggery they are complaining about.

tl;dr: humans are stupid

Rich Froning is a freak, just saying

I watch the Crossfit World Games religiously, he is incredible

Clearly there are fitter men than him, clearly there are stronger men than him and clearly there are men with better physiques

But in his sport, no one can touch him.

Crossfit are the ones that market the Worlds Fittest blah blah blah

He is cashin cheques and snappin necks, dont hate on Rich

As you watch it, and I never have, what would you say about their form in terms of the fast reps stuff they do? Risky or fine? Obviously depends on the guy but you hear a lot of talk about injured cross fitters.

How's your boy with the broken bench press arm doing too? What sort of programs do you have for guys who are/have been injured? Do you change much?

From what I have seen form is suited to the events.

The best in the game are examples of good form. The punters, like every single other sport are a mixture.

Training is risky. Injuries are to be expected in any physically demmanding activity. By being aware of factors you can lower risks but, not eliminate them. You can trip over in your living room and get hurt.

I would suggest the incident rate of crossfit is likely the same or lower than things like basketball , soccer , and the gym junkies as far as physio's seeing people injured.

I honestly believe 99% of the population still hasnt worked out CrossFit is a sport, not an exercise regime, hence the $250,000 prizemoney

Why does no one ask about the running technique of Billy Slater when 2 x 120kg thugs are hanging off him

In competition, any competition, effort is all that matters

CrossFit is a sport

Rich is the best CrossFitter in the land, back to back I should add

Effort and rules

Argh...my gym just had their bench press for bodyweight competition. Females = half bodyweight. So in other words, a 17 year old girl won it, by doing half reps about 26 times. Second was a steroid junkie who thought bench press meant bouncing the bar 3 inches off your chest.

I don't care how much I sound like a bad loser, I was the only one who made each rep touch the chest and come close to lockout. I know it's all in good fun but meh, I can't have fun in a contest where people don't know the rules.

May have to start entering the PTC novice comps...coming last and knowing everyone did the f**king movement correctly would be much more satisfying!

Rexona best athlete or whatever it was called, a few years ago Brett Dildo from Richmond won the bench press by doing 1/2 reps, not even close to his chest.

When he was interviewed he said they did stacks of benching at Richmond so he felt confident

It was embarrassing

Because this is for all intents and purposes an AFL forum. Lol.

I would love to read more about NRL training styles but the info for practical stuff is pretty thin on the ground.

Even on the interwebs :/

I would have expected Mark Webber's chin to win that competition.

Because an NRL player is not claiming to be gods gift for doing that, so nobody cares about the form or technique, it's just part of his job and he gets it done, as you said, his effort and the result is all that matters.

When CrossFitters say they are awesome, strong, it's the best, why would you bother doing anything else, naturally people will look to confirm they are actually doing the motions right rather than just throwing weights around and claiming superiority.

I should add, I have no issue with CrossFit, other than the cult like attitude of the people within it. The concept, to me, as a fitness based sport are excellent.

LOL

Dan, either is Rich Froning, he claims NOTHING, CrossFit call him the fittest man on earth

Dont get f**kwits training in boxes confused with guys like Rich Froning

Just like WSM announce Pudzinowski as the Worlds Strongest Man, yet he gets his ass handed to him at the Arnold Strongman every year

Use your own eyes and asses an athlete, make up your own mind, dont hate

Froning is awesome

If you read back, you'll see I was actually defending the guy.

I give no f**ks about him or what he can do, all I said was he looked like he was doing a good job and look at all the people commenting negatively, I didn't actually make any negative comments about him myself.

This is exactly how i feel. so many people even start lifting weights and all of a sudden, they do crossfit.

    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
