It'd quite a strict movement; one of the reasons it is done behind neck, because there is little variance in the range of motion. As long as you're taught and execute it correctly, this makes it one of the safer shoulder exercises. But no amount of safety in a range of motion will save you if not everything is sitting right when you do it.

Sorry birds thats not right at all . The range of motion and the position is bad compared to standard. It's got far more stress on the rotator cuff due to the position of the shoulder.

You can do them in relative safety, provided you are in correct shoulder position (and can get there with enough shoulder mobility). However, It will place much much more stress on the rotator, scapular and traps than front style. Maybe people don't like the regualr military press as much because sometimes the amount of weight they can do is less , relative to behind the neck (people like bragging rights). Add to this the 'standing' as opposed to sitting component and it's easier to get it wrong.

To help illustrate as to why these are strong on the rotator cuff , look at the elbow position. In the same way as the other pressing movement bench press. elbows out for gym punter bench press (ouch my rotators) vs the elbows in version for powerlifting.

Front press starts with the elbows in front and in. Moving the bar upwards vertically. Behind the neck is out to the sides and up out a little.

Either press needs a good strong shoulder girdle and upperback. Both assist slightly in actually building stronger supporting muscles as a compound movement. But, that aint enough.

My shoulders are pretty strong, I didn't need them.

liquid grip is great for gyms that don't allow chalk

f**k those gyms lol. Just don't let them see you start using it, and don't make a bloody mess....then if/when they notice you've got chalk, they won't usually care since you didn't get it everywhere haha

Either way, f**k those gyms :P

Also, fellow protein brahs...a testing company finally got back to me and are emailing me information on how to send them a sample. So the wheels are in motion

Quoted for truth

I think it's more that some gyms (all of which would be commercial gyms) would get up you for leaving a mess lol...I know the chick at my gym was like "don't make too much mess or the cleaners might whine haha"...she cool though.

I just dont want to end up throwing up my food :)

You won't if you eat at least 2 hours before you work out for a large meal, or an hour for a small meal.

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
