yeah like I said it's more Rip's comments about physiology and nutrition that gets other experts riled up. I think if I was to be starting again from scratch, I'd start with Starting Strength.

sweet Trozzle, you'll be a member of the home gym master race now!

1 x LC2 Power Rack + 180KG Olympic Weight Set + Flat/Incline bench () = $1,278.00

4 x EVA Jigsaw Flooring (EVAFL) = $100.00

------------------------------------------------------
Sub-Total: $1,378.00
Northline Road Freight (Bulk pallet freight (hand unload), to any attended street address): $133.75
Total: $1,511.75

Could've got the flooring cheaper through a mate's local business but I completely forgot about him haha...will probably need more than the 4 though, so I can hit him up then.

Unsure about my gym membership - will let it continue running for a month or so to see if I still utilise it enough to justify cost (occasional mindless cardio, occasional convenience use like during lunch break). I can pause my membership though, so at least I don't have to cancel it completely.

Routine will still be a push-pull-legs split, focussing on the 3 main lifts. I can't think of any exercises off the top of my head that I won't be able to do with the above equipment plus the plate loaded dumbbells we already have at home.

So a while back, specifically late May, we were discussing Robert Forstemann's (pro cyclist) immensely sized quads. We then proceeded to measure our own so we could all okay.jpg

I measured 22" at the time, and out of curiosity gave it another go today. I'm now at 23", for a growth of 1" in the last 4-5 months. Haven't noticed a change in body fat, so here's hoping it's muscle! Regardless, I am looking more in proportion than ever, as far as legs vs upper body goes (which was my goal when I started leg hypertrophy training to counter years of neglected legs), so am quite happy :)

Now hopefully I don't do the reverse and end up with thunder thighs on a small upper, which at least looks less ridiculous than chicken legs on a huge upper.

Downside: though the last 8 months of shoulder injury has allowed me to focus on legs more, neglecting upper body movements has cost me half an inch in arm size :(

hahahaha Dan!!

nice work Birdman :) during my bingefest earlier in the year I hit a point where none of my jeans would fit any more, but not because I got fat around the waist (which happened to a small degree, but not the problem at all) - it was due to being unable to pull them up to my waist in the first place! They all got stuck on my thighs lol

Not quite as bad now that I've cleaned up a bit and dropped water/fat, but still can't wear any of my old jeans without walking like a retard unable to bend ze knees or lean forward at the hips hahaha

out of curiosity, what is everyone's favorite exercise?

mine would have to be deadlifts. I always approach this lift with as much aggression and intensity as i can possibly muster. That mixed in with pulling a big number brings me a lot of satisfaction

I'd say Deads is the most enjoyable for me, when I can do them, but Bench has always had a special place for me for some reason.

I think because when I started out I went hard at it because I desperately wanted a chest.

After that I became a curl bro.

Deadlifts are my favourite. Nothing beats the feeling of locking out a heavy weight and standing there in lock out, triumphant over it. It also amazes me how much someone can lift with it, over and above their own weight, off the ground - especially when I was raised with the mantra "don't lift with your back". They also fixed my back problems, so will always have a special place in my...lower back :P

Bench is a close second, just because the feeling of getting a weight up after struggling with it is close to the feeling of a deadlift lockout.

I'd be interested to know what the favourite of a lot of powerlifters is. I'm gonna guess the squat, because a lot of people have big deads and bench, but squat always seems to need the most improvement. Yet a lot of top powerlifters have a slightly bigger squat than they can deadlift.

Clean and Press is my fav, I do it after squats, great for all round body strength.

My name is Patrick Bateman. I'm 27 years old. I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

No offence, just taking the piss.

Nice hahaha pullups would have to be my favourite, because I suck at them.

A trainer at the gym said I can use chalk as long as I don't leave a mess.

Where do you guys get yours from? Ebay? Or anybody know any places in perth?

$8.00 DELIVERED

I just put the chalk in a old (clean) gym sock, tie a knot in it and crush it up, it only lets a bit of chalk out and doesn't make a mess, a little bit of dust is all, AND, 50% of your chalk doesn't end up on the ground.

I did have a real chalk bag for a while but I left it at the gym one day and someone nicked it, thieving bastards.

    • Yes to both! Yes to standard ECU and tune, but exhaust is aftermarket. Unsure on brand. Actually have it sitting in at my desk haha! I have to set it up on my laptop but this is a great next step, will do. So I generally try to shift before 4.5K RPM most times. I largely don't do a lot of high-rev driving, but I will take it up to red 1-2x a week max, as I know the occasional "Italian tune-up" is good for these cars.  Oh wow, is this way better than what I'm getting. Does this mean there's a good chance I have an issue?   Thanks for all the info so far guys.
    • Old Son, did you re-use the Holden ABS in the new shell or try a different module?
    • Yeah, nah. I had the actuator rod off it today. The arm will not move at all. Neither out, nor in. Yeah, you'd think so, but I've been thinking about that. Even when the actuator rod fell all the way off at the beginning of this saga, it would build more boost and faster in lower gears than it would in higher gears, and you'd think that that was the opposite of what should happen. But I strongly suspect that there is a thing with the gearing getting the revs to rise faster, that there must be some transient effect with the gas flow rate rising quickly, that you don't get with the more steady state case of the higher gears. Keep in mind - the gate is not shut in either of my weirdnesses. So things are not "normal". We normally think about a turbo spooling up (below the wastegate target) with the gate shut. I have all sorts of mental models running now where the gate is a little bit open, and having it stuck open allowing gas out while it should be going through the turbine has all sorts of weird effects (in these mental models). I'm thinking in the higher gears, the ex mani pressure builds to the point where enough gases spill out the wastegate to just prevent the pressure rising much more at all, or just creeping up, all the whole the revs are increasing and getting closer to the point where a gear shift becomes necessary.
    • Is it possibly wastegate actuator itself is sticking, or even the rod to flapper? Otherwise I reckon things are getting a bit rusty/worn   Also odd it won't boost in 3rd to 5th, but will in 1st, I'd expect the other way around with it slightly open as there's more time on your way to redline for it to spin up
    • Does anyone know ow what these two plugs are for and if they should be unplugged? Just put the dash back together and can't remember if these were plugged in before or unplugged! (Blue and white plugs) 🤦🏽‍♂️
