Does anyone else see the connection with this bright Police idea and... wait for it....

the FAST AND THE FURIOUS!

seriously guys, be careful of and NSW police officers with the names Brian Earl Spilner who ask to race for slips and possibly to take your respect. Word is they have two bottles of Nos (the big ones) and direct port nitrous injection.

You dont live near mitcham by any chance do you?

Saw one getting around that area with a winnie the poo shade, most cops just have a black one in the back window to cover the lights on the parcel shelf.

Yep...Vic TMU had a fleet of WRX's they used back in the early 2000's. Rumour has it that they stopped using WRX's because they kept stacking them

haha i've heard this rumour many times over. white men can't jump, cops can't drive

ive also seen some cop cars running motec system exhausts

they have so much torque, the chassis twists coming off the line...

thats not torque, thats a shit build...

Anyway I wonder what the legality is in regard to them displaying P plates when they are on a full licence?

it was also due to the style of seat the wrx used, and the police's belt they wear with all thier gadgets

also a bout 2 years ago i saw a 1999 falcon ute with chrome roll bars and aftermarket wheels pulling someone over, think it was thomastown area (vic) ,,..... very sneaky i thought, using a ute for starters, and it being 6 years old at the time!

a few ways to tell a cop car is

-small rectangular box mounted on passenger side dash

-small light box mounted on rear parcel shelf on drivers side

-sunshades put on rear window to hide light box on parcel shelf

-abnormal amount of Arials

-undercover cop cars do not have plastic dealer advertising around numberplates

-dark tint

-usually in uniform also, but have known to also wear plain clothes

list goes on im sure people can add to it

Where did you pull those from ant?

Secret.....only joking the magic world of email :(

...and Jar.....that is not always the case.....to my knowledge in very few cases a car company will donate the car for the police to use but more often than not the police lease them and hence we are paying for it.

na, live in thomastown.. cops are just great down here [/sarcasm]

We had a cop WRX in our small town a few years back. It didnt last long thanks to teh po-po stacking it into a drain on a random dirt road way out of town!!!! :ermm: The actual report was that he was chasing a hoon.... :P

haha, same in CBR about 10 years ago. One WRX into a tree, another through a brick wall, and a Volvo was crashed as well... all "while pursuing suspects..."

Isnt it an offence to have a p plate on if you're a full licenced driver?

I could be wrong... ...but for example... ...if you're 20 and a cop and driving a marked car... ...you're still meant to show P plates...

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
    • Yeah, I guess its pretty easy to get to if this doesn't work. Just wait till next oil change and pull it out. I am going to have to do the oil pan gasket soon and thought I'd just replace it while I was there.  Thanks
    • All that matters is you're safe and you were able to type that post. Hopefully heaps of parts you can recover for the next shell.
