Ignitiondvd Hot Spots + Dyno Comp!, Friday The 1st @ R.e Customs

I find it odd that I made 50 rwkw less that what I have on several other occasions.

Maybe the strapping was wrong.......

117 mph at the end of the quarter says it all.

Your spot on, there is no way 200rwkw would get you 117mph... I think something is wrong here..

You illiterate or just an idiot?

FYI it made 243rwkw (previously 257rwkw on the same dyno) and was the most powerful RB25DET on the dyno that night....most powerful non GTR skyline too...

Who the f**k is this muppet? I simply asked a question. omg it made 14 less rwkw on the night.... dyno number queens.

I drove into the court at 7:30 to check the turnout. I was intending on coming but plans changed so I just drove by. Everyone standing their watched as I drove in, was pretty funny to see, everyone expecting me to pull over. Pity I couldnt stay.

Good turnout.. was only there for about an hour and a half, but enough to see everyone roll up (a couple of nice little ladies aswell) and the first few runs. Most surprising was everyones ability to park in a reasonable formation in that court. :laugh:

Some nice cars there, wish i was there long enough to stick mine up on the dyno. :D

Few figures were odd. If its any concilation my mates twin turbo legacy pulled 117awkw where it had previously made 184awkw on the same dyno. :D wierd

Get your mate to check his earlier (184kw) dyno sheet. On the below he will see that the intake temp meter was out of whack. Read something stupid like 186 degrees.

That is the reason it read so high previously. The intake temp sensor was playing up sometime ago which Ray unfortunately did not know about until after that vehicle was dynoed.

Also FYI. For strapping to cause lower readings, this is generally due to "over tighetning" on the straps. Most cars on the night were "very" lightly strapped. So should have no effect on low readings.

Most likely other dyno's are "happy" or mechanics using the intake temp sensor trick to boost figures.

At the end of the day, the best way to tell if the power is down, is by how it drives.

Cheers.

Sorry for sounding like a "n00b"... ...but what does all that stuff at the bottom mean???... ...I'm guessing "IT:23" means Intake Temp was 23ºC...

IT = inlet temperature

RT = reference temperature

RH = reference humidity

RP = reference pressure

TN = inertia setting

RR = ramp angle

PL = power loading

CK = check reference

That there is the JaR man.. and you are a f**k head :D

you having a sook because yours comes nowhere near that?

I was there all night, well i got there at 9pm. Scored a red bull, 4 gay Ignition DVD which i'll give them away soon.

Well, opinion is one thing, but why'd you "score" ie take four editions of your own free will if you don't like them? There are plenty of other people who missed out because others took as many as they could.

A little courtesy to us as we did organise the night with R.E and made an effort for the fans and people such as yourself.

I didn't get any DVDs, but I did get my car photographed a lot :D

Any chance of a "sleeper feature"

to be considered a sleeper your car must make more power than it looks like its capable of. Your car looks 300kw and makes 200kw :)

Oh. PWNED as well. Pete gets points for having the sexy LED tail lights though. Winnar!

Nah, problem is the fuel pump issue is sorted.

I'll be taking the beast to Benno's on the morning of the SAU dyno day and we'll have some fun.

oh yeah, bring on some 100 octane for that day too :D

    • If you mean the alarm immobiliser; theyre internal to the alarm itself which makes that difficult; I couldnt even see where he put it; its not in the same place as last time; but with all black wiring it might be very challenging to trace  I had someone turn the key for me as I know it only primes for a couple of seconds As my post above; I am getting no voltage to the pump at all; but I am testing continuity of the power line (SB) from the pump plug to the relay fine. As well as the negative from the pump plug to a 12V constant.    Yeah; he blammed the no start on a bad battery; said I needed to get a new battery and it'll start. Turns out the battery drained because the tail lights had been on for half the day during the install (the rubber cushion on the brake switch gave out while he was testing it as I have a picture of the car from that morning with the tail lights off..i've replaced that). The battery was turning over the engine just fine for a long time; but got low since lights were draining it so it was too low to test a start after he finished. I bought a new one on his advice...$250 wasted. My original battery charged up just fine and is healthy.    It was running perfectly fine when I messed up the old alarm (programmed out the remotes). He couldnt start it after removing the old alarm; my assumption is that when he unhooked it; he didnt bridge the circuit back when trying to start it. Its always been perfectly fine. The ECU swap and pump were 2 years ago. It's never missed a beat in that time.
    • This is a big issue for me without the diff. I just have zero drive from the passenger side when drivers side has no traction. Bec's parents place has a crazy steep driveway with odd camber and I have never been able to get up. My bro-in-law's 130i with an (unknown brand) LSD gets up fine as does their dad's Hiace. My car stays at the bottom. We have other odd camber roads around here as we're elevated a bit and if it's raining I can get totally stuck around some hairpins.
    • Yeah, I am super excited for this.
    • Was the car running before he touched the car?
