Just get the guards rolled, it'll be much easier and cheaper in the long run than to just throw in some camber when you don't want it. Don't lower it anymore either, you'll be sacrificing performance for looks.

I think you can hire out guard rollers for about $50 a day or something like that. Or just get someone to roll them for you. About $40 per guard.

Car's looking good though mate.

00skyline00 have you got any camber on yours ? and what size rims you have ?

Yeah I got camber on mine but my rims are 17". I'll take some pics.

My rims are,

Front = 235 / 45 / 17R

Rear = 245 / 45 / 17R

The front and rear camber is pretty much all the way down (Negative) any lower I will probley need a camber kit my mechanic told me.

Hrmm ok I have 265/35/18

I see, so you got a lower profile of tyres but are a bit wider. Maybe try using spacers to give you abit more room (Im guessing...)

I got it on mine so it can fit the larger rims and have the negative camber so the rims don't protrude out of the guards...

BTW did you put the rims on yourself? Maybe take it to ya mechanic / tyre place to see what they can do, if it still rubs then take down the tyre size to say... 235 / 245 ect

How much castor are you running?

One way of fixing a problem on the rear of the front tyres is to get some rods & wind some more castor into the front suspension.

The fundamental problem is that the rims are the wrong offset. They should be +22mm ie 20mm narrower in trackwidth than what you have.

Well bugger I was always told +12 To +20 was good for a GTR.

The guy at Fulcrum Recons its no worries he has done plenty of 32s,

I dunno Most people are amazed the wheels dont fit well under the guards especially under the back. It sticks out about a cm. :D

Whats the issue with rolling the aluminium guards ? He just said it was hard thats all.

Then the guy at Fulcrum Recons is wrong.

What are you going to bolt the liner to once the guards are rolled?

Nothing the Liner will be gone, then what ever electrics there are under there I will have to cover another way.

I dunno had the wheels for 2 days and they are a pain lol u recon an offset of +20 same size everything else would fit better.

Well this is a bit annoying I didnt do my research good enough the wheels are just to god damn big.

I took the car to Fulcrum today, the boss had a look and said my best bet is to roll the front and rears leaving the front inners on, and then they will take it for a drive and see how it feels, if its no good then take the inners off.

the rears the only option I have is to put adjustable rear upper arms on and run camber to try get the wheels under guards.

other then that he said get smaller wheels :P (9")

How the hell do all you guys run 9.5 18"s on 32 GTR's hope the scrubbing is better after rolling.

Mines lower than yours (attached is a recent pic)

all you do is get 235's on there with a slight stretch, 2.5neg camber, roll the fronts 1.5neg at the front

:)

EDIT: Actually that pic doesnt do it justice, but trust me, its fkn low, and the above solution fixed the problem :)

Thanks N1, the car is getting the guards rolled as we speak, the fronts I am hoping will be ok, but the rears will still need rear upper arms (adjustable) to get them under the guard I think, when the tyres wear out I will put 245 on them, what width are your wheels ?

I have 265 on 18 9.5 +12

Well i got the rears rolled and took the linners off and bent up the tabs that screw went into, so far its a lot better.

still rears stick out to much, I looked at camber arms but I wil need to much and tyres wont last longer then 3 months, I am not looking for some second hand decent 235/40 or 240/40 if anyone has some, and I will have some 265/35 for sale.

    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
