What happened with the just jap car & the other autosport gtr that was pinched earlier, you cant tell me their were no leads regarding possible theives etc when both cars were recovered!

Cmon what about everyone else's cars in the shire?

Yes, they closed that thread pretty damn quickly. Didn't really say much after they got the car back.

Careful.

I've been warned asking these questions.

somethings aparently can't be disclosed on forums due to legalities.

May I suggest everyone do this..

email a suggestion for a story.

let them know how you are concerned at the number of performance cars being targeted and stolen from Westfields Car park at Miranda and the general shire vicinity.

Let them know that you know of x instances in the past month of cars being taken.

and how westfields are not doing anything to help like security cameras or ticket parking.

and because nothing is being done, cars keep getting taken.

It may not get us anywhere, but at least you are TRYING to get it out to the general public who don't use performance car forums.

Maybe, if a large number of people suggest the same thing, they might do something about it and air it.

Maybe people who are on multiple forums can suggest everyone on the other forums do the same.

Numbers make noise..!!

I agree that its a valid point, and would be nice if some light could be shed as its just not a coincidence that cars are getting nicked around the same area. At worst, everyone would know everyone else involved. I would say once you cracked one, you would have most of them all sorted out and caught.

Anyway, the bloke that said why dont people just stop parking there is completely right, as well as why dont people stop modifying and buying f*kn alarms! Sure, people say "they can get around alarms anyway" but I havent heard one lately thats had one!?

Its like knowing theres going to be a hail storm and taking your car out because you needed to clean the garage.. :) I use to park in there all the time, and I havent even thought about it nor parking in any other shopping centre for that matter.

i can imagine how these stories will end up.... that stupid Anna Coren on today tonight will be like " good on those thieves for taking these "hoon cars" off the street, blah blah blah. They're actually saving lives, blah blah"

Bunch of spastics.

amen!

they wont do a story on one 'evil' (thieves) against another 'evil' (hoons)

there needs to be a 'goodie'... like a pregnant mother has her car stolen three times in one day and its centerlinks fault for not giving her a dole cheque to pay for an alarm or something..

:laughing-smiley-014:

You'd be great in Marketing

even if they spun the story to say good on them for stealing their cars (which you know is bullshit and would never be said), at least it will mention that cars are being stolen from these areas.

people will see the ads about "performance cars" on TT and ACA and will go.. oh here we go. lets see what they say now.

they will get the shits about the story, but at least they will hear that all this theft has happened there.

instead of bitching about how you think the story will go, why not try.

what have you got to lose?

5 minutes?

numbers make differences.

I mean how many of you f**kers forwarded on those stupid "don't buy fuel on wednesday" emails when they first went around via email before they reached forums.

that was dumb.

but it reached thousands of people.

I can't believe that there is a medium that airs every night, has a website, asks you to suggest a story, and the car community won't get behind it.

any publicity is good publicity.

even if they put a hoon spin on it, people will watch it to see what bullshit they will say this time.

they will see/hear that many hoon vehicles have been stolen from this area.

and they will stop going there.

Or, why doesn't the NSW SAU club members put together some evidence, numbers etc of what has been happening, then ask to speak to a superior officer in a professional manner, stating that you are the secretary/chairman etc of a motoring organisation, and here is the evidence of how many cars have been stolen from here here and here.

perhaps suggest that a small operation be conducted and that the club is willing to help in anyway they can.

everyone has a f**king cry about this shit but when a suggestion is made, no-one wants to try ANYTHING except say "Karma will get them" or "let's get a mob together and bash these scums.

All f**king talk.

DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

I thought this club was a community.

you're all patriotic on the forum or when something bad is said about skylines, but what are you actually doing for the community?

Nothing!

I probably shouldn't even care cause I don't even live down there anymore.

But I'm sick to death of hearing how bad things are, then people not willing to do anything.

not even type up an email about your concern.

BAH!

Wow! What a co incedence!

Now thats lucky, the F*ckers probably go from carpark to carpark scoping cars even when they are in one they probably scouted out Star City to find something & i wouldnt be surprised if they used the ticket & grabbed another car.

move to blacktwon, penrith or somewhere in between mt druitt, i dont hear cars knocked off there

The thieves around there generally go for the $2 shop things.

Has anyone came up with the idea of causing a setup for the thieves.

Might take a few days, but try an park the car in the same spot all the time,

get different mates to park around watching the car from far,

once someone pulls up and tries to steal it,

everyone just run up and beat the living crap out of him. :)

lol.. or you could do what was mentioned above :-) with TT ACA,

just read it now

    • After @Kinkstaah debacle, I'd never want to try and get it right 😛
    • The hood lines up with the fenders. The front bar doesn't perfectly line up with the fenders where the wheel arch is. You have to 'squeeze' the front bar 'in' as it wants to naturally flare out and be longer on the sides. There's a few threads where people notice this when they only swap a GTR style bumper and front bar. Unless you have genuine OEM items - you may be better served getting conversion kits. There are GTT bumpers to fit GTR hoods. There are GTR hoods (non genuine) to fit the GTT bracketry. MAY
    • The real question is, on some of those wild roads they call highways, how many times did a farmer in an old ute from the early 2000s blaze past you over double lines?   Tassie is a wild and really cool place, and after doing a work related road trip there January of 24, I understand why Targa Tasmania is ran there, and is so tough to do well at! We had a brand new Camry Hybrid that handled quite nicely, and thankfully weren't in an old car, because cresting some of those hills in a 100kmh zone for it to suddenly be like "surprise f**kers, this is a recommended 30kmh hard right turn" wouldn't be pretty. We weren't racing the Camry around, but we weren't slouching in the bends either. But my lord those old farmers know their old clapped out utes, and those roads, as they were absolutely hammering it!   You're also super lucky to make it up to Mt Wellingtong this time of year. It's often road closed with snow/ice! Also, I hope you hit up Salamander Road in Hobart for some insanely good food (I highly recommend the dimly lit Irish pub for a Guiness Pie, or even the bangers and mash!!!)   How long did the Ferry take to get across? I want to do a road trip of Tas on my own time, but I get horrifically sea sick, and I don't want me on the Ferry, just the car 😛
    • So far so good, about 30km on it so far and nothing out of sorts yet thankfully
