looks good russ, can't wait to whip your guy's arses

you going to log book it as 3d?

i like your style, will be really interested how light you can get the car. And don't worry by the time you've stripped and cleaned it all it will be lovely. my car never gets time to get too dirty between rebuilds lol

cheers dunc! yeah 3d most likely i think it's about the only class it will fit, glad they changed the rules. for turbo 4wd cars

i also mixed you up with paul(dirt grage) on another thread , i have some video's ( skyline group a races) i need to send him.

i know what ya mean about between rebuilds, lol:)

are you doing targa again?

i will definately let you know how light we can get it, as a shell i can pick up the whole front of the car one handed on the hoist!!

hey david are you meaning the bathurst sprint at christnas(drive bathurst) or is there another one i can go to??

ahh good I was wondering what you were smoking lol

there is the bathurst supersprint (full track @ $50k a lap or whatever their price is) or the hillclimbs and supersprints run by BLCC they are about $100 ea. First 2 are in march, there are more runs mid year and they run another one first weekend december each year.

our production car is running again today should hit the track tomorrow, it looks nice and clean right now. And as covered in the bathurst 12 hr thread we beat the guys who op qualified back in October - shame they have banned the 32 gtr (again) by bringing in a 5 year age limit to the bathurst races this weekend

our sports sedan is a way off yet - engine is ready standard 26 bottom end with a bit of porting, oversize valves and big cams with releived head. but on 2530 turbs I'm sure we will be well short of the power you guys make. probably ready mid year.

I am curious how you mated the sump / diff to the rb30 block? did you modify the block or sump? Have you rigged up any oil squirters for the bottom of the pistons?

I have seen a 30 block modified to suit gtr sump before, but it was a bit experimental & costly.

thanks for the info dunc

are you going to the march sprints?

have you been around the mountain! what times if you have?

i would love to give it a crack sometime soon.

there's i a hillclimb on tomorrow ( just testn tune ) that i am thinking about turning up to!

i feel a bit shagged though, as i went and did a heap of mowing out at lakeside raceway today to help clean the track up.!! bloody hot and burnt

they are in for lots of trouble when it opens back up, as someone complained from a house near by the moment a motorbike went around the track! and it was a bloody quiet bike doing no more than 60!!

I'ev only done the hillclimb and par track supersprint, which are still great fun. COuldn';t justify the price for the full track sprint and $5k or whatever it was, but 2 GTRs (Whitehead and Holland) went up there for that. They didn't trouble the '92 times to much

I have been arount the mountian a few times, only in a HQ race car tho! dam good fun.

When is lakeside opening up again? I would like to get involved, as thats where I cut my teeth on bitumen racing years ago.

if you are going to log book it as a 3D Sport Sedan, those front gaurds aren't legal - the opening at the rear of the gaurd is not allowed. The front undertray would also be illegal - not allowed to extend rearward beyone the leading edge of the front tyres. Canards are also not permitted.

HMMM...thanks for that, we might have to have a second set of front guards and bumper for log book racing

mind you mainly interested in time attack events and sprints, jdm etc.

cheers russ

we have decided not to acid dip( at this stage ) car is ready for body prep and just finishing the stand for it, then we will sandblast what we can and

take the rest off by hand. then off for cage and some other mods.

to be honest ben , i dont know

the chassis will be sandblasted to remove all body deadner and seam sealer and then heated before doing seam welding to get most of the under seam sealer out,

i would guess we will probably remove 20 odd kilo of body deadner and i think the shell weight is around the 300/350 kilo mark currently, we havent weighed it yet.

there is a few areas we were concerned about in regards to acid dipping without intimate knowledge of the process eg r34 has dual skined firewalls, removing all the acid out of places like that may be a bit of a nightmare, secondly i have a sandblast booth available to me so that is the easiest & an effective method for us.

not sure whether it's on all r34's , but the underside of this shell is coated in deadner also in the wheel arches. so probably that again in weight

    • I'd be very surprised if you can buy new OEM mats. But if you can, I want some too!  Do you have links to the variations you found? Also, where are you located? I found that Nengun is happy to list items to purchase but when you do buy them you'll get an email that it's actually discontinued. As far as I know the variations in floor mats are different colour schemes as well as automatic and manual having a slightly different shape. The automatic ones fit into a manual car without issues, but I think you'd have trouble fitting the other way around. I have photos that show the shape difference if you care. FWIW I bought sets of used floor mats in decent condition at yahoo auctions.
    • Hi 🙋‍♂️. Just bought my Unicorn but the interior need some minor work so it would match my expectations ;). I noticed it is hard to get used oem floor mats in good condition so i started to dig if there's any chance to buy set of new ones. I found two websites - nengun and amayama and it looks like one can still buy factory new floor mats in Japan, but thers a small issue. Some mats (i assume genuine, oem ones) are marked as G4900 and these are "discontinued". The ones you can buy are marked as G4911 but i have no idea if these are also oem, made by other producer or some lower quality replacements that looks entirely different. Can anyone help? 😃  P.s. there is also some strange indication - 0V005, 0V015 and 0V505. Any idea what does it mean? Would appreciate any help with this 🙏
    • Hi, Marek here 🙋‍♂️. I finally fulfilled my longtime dream - recently bought Stagea and now waiting for it to arrive in Poland. There's only few of these in my country, and one of the owners  recommended mi this forum as a source of all the info i'd need since now i own one  so here i am.
    • Version 1 aluminium airbox is.......not acceptable No pics as I "didn't like the look.....alot" Even after all my "CAD", and measurements, the leg near the fusebox just didn't sit right as it ended up about 10mm long and made the angle of the dangle look wrong, the height was a little short as well, meh, I wasn't that confident that Version 1 was going to be an instant winner I might give Version 2 another go, there's plenty of aluminium at work, but, after having in on and off a few times, and laying in the old OEM airbox without the new pod filter and MAF, there may be an option to modify the OEM air box and still use the Autoexe front cover and filter.... maybe This >  Needs to fit in here, but using the panel, and not the pod, the MAF will need to fit in the airbox though> I'm thinking as the old OEM box and Autoexe cover that is sitting in the shed is just sitting around doing nothing, and they are relatively abundant and cheap to replace if I mess it up and need another, it may well fit with some modifications to how the Autoexe brackets mounts to the rad support, and some dremiling to move it get in there, should give me some more room for activities, as I don't want to move the MAF and affect the tune Sealing the hole it requires to stick it in the air box is simple, a tight fit and some pinch weld will seal it up tight  I am calling this a later problem though
    • and it ends up being already priced in as though you're just on 91RON without any ethanol. Car will lose a bit of economy as the short and long term fuel trims bring down the AFR back to stoich or whatever it is for cruise/idle for the engine.
