as for the power ratings, it was actually torque rating, 1000ft pounds and 2000ft pounds. but i was sent hp this and then hp that. i think it changed when we went to the aussie distributor as James was always quoting torque ratings. (as i just copied and pasted)

Well i dont plan to buy anything for a while now, since our dollar is up the shit.

there is really only one thing that i might do which is a titanium exhaust (90mm trust cat back)

and possibly a sump extension (tho i can get sump extensions rather cheap thru a fabricating friend) who wants me to collect rb26 sumps so he can stock them.

he did the design himself. but its some what similar to how the hi octane one is. (welded in trap doors etc) without a cast item and with alloy. says if you happen to hit it the cast will crack. where the alloy will possibly dent or bend.

i'm actually waiting at home now as i must have just missed him yesterday morning with the delivery!

Its actually a bit heavier than what i expected.. tho alot lighter than normal..

maybe i should have gone for the lover model haha.

i did take a photo but found i have no usb cable here

awesome

is yours the 2000lb/ft one mate? how can you differenciate?

cheers

mick

yeah this is the 2000lb/ft model, and i actually have no idea, we will have to wait untill Piggaz or gtr13 take photos of theirs as they were the only two who did the 1000hp model..

mines around about 9.3cm in thickness.. on the carbon section.

Andrew

90mm Ti exhaust ay?..mmm if you wait on the dollar to regain some ground i'm in...Trust TiR? or do you have a cunning plan?

yeah just a trust ti-r 90mm..i think they weigh less than the carbon shafts :P or maybe they were 15kg's i cant remember

with the way i am thinking i should leave the current setup for now. and doing a sidepipe..

but it all comes down to my internal wastegates holding pressure (30psi) and turbo efficiency, if they are efficient and not holding boost i will go external and will want a new front pipe and the Trust catback..

but if they are all good, i will just keep the current setup and get a sidepipe made up..

yeah I think the 1000ft/lb one is the go. no way you are going to put 2000ft/lb through a GTR driveline. go for the lightest one. and even better it's cheaper! though I guess this sterling advice comes a bit late for you chaps... :P glad to see you all got there in the end. :D

I dont know if mine has arrived yet. I sent it to my mates house. My parents would shoot me if another package from another country for the GTR arrived!. Will post pics ASAP!

    • If you take the top half of the intake off you can unbolt the flap off the shaft and leave the shaft in there blocking the hole. Then you can remove the little vacuum canister off from under the manifold and get a spare vacuum line to run to the ECU. I can take some photos of it later. Probably best to get the vacuum source to the ECU sorted first though. Mine all worked mint with the base map from the GTT an I've pretty much let the closed loop sort the fueling and took 1 degree out of the whole timing map.
    • This IS something you also have to configure in Haltech (or at least I did in the past when going from onboard-to-ECU map sensor and an external MAP sensor in haltech land).
    • I'm hoping it's something as simple as the ECU is looking for an external MAP sensor, but he is trying to use the onboard MAP sensor.
    • You won't need to do that if your happy to learn to tune it yourself. You 100% do not need to do that. It is not part of the learning process. It's not like driving on track and 'finding the limit by stepping over the limit'. You should not ever accidently blow up an engine and you should have setup the ECU's engine protection to save you from yourself while you are learning anyway. Plenty of us have tuned their own cars, myself included. We still come here for advice/guidance/new ideas etc.  What have you been doing so far to learn how to tune?
    • Put the ECU's MAP line in your mouth. Blow as hard as you can. You should be able to see about 10 kPa, maybe 15 kPa positive pressure. Suck on it. You should be able to generate a decent vacuum to about the same level also. Note that this is only ~2 psi either way. If the MAP is reading -5 psi all the time, ignition on, engine running or not, driving around or not, then it is severely f**ked. Also, you SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING IT WITHOUT A LOAD REFERENCE. You will break the engine. Badly.
