So how long for the ones still in the US??? Have they even been made yet??

Are all the shafts that have arrived for R32s?

Andrew you said you have fitted yours how did it go everything fit up ok ? as i have just fitted mine in a R34 GTR and the spacer plate is about 5mm to short it all bolts up but has a gap of 5mm between the spacer and the back of the rear diff what did everyone get one or two spacers as looking at the photos on page two their are two spacers supplied with the shaft i only received one not sure if this is correct or not , iam looking at making up a thicker spacer plate so not really keen on giving the car a bootfull at the moment

couple photos of my install you can see the gap between the spacer plate and where it goes into the rear diff and also the bolts on the back as you can see are to short and the front bolts were to long had to be cut down as they fouled on a grease nipple any comments welcome

Arent they supposed to come with no spacer extensions...? That changes the speed at which the shaft can rotate.

"Oh keith! i hope its there. tho i dont have any trackin numbers for wa at all.."

Spoke with Xspeed and they haven't got it...they will keep an eye out but :P

Tracking number would be very useful

Hey troy do you happen to have a little bit of extension movement with your shaft?? would that take up the extra 5mm needed? someone with drive shaft experience can tell us if its ok to extend the shaft a bit from the grease joint end (not the uni end)??

it looks like you got the right amount of bits to bolt it up there was only one spacer with mine but it has a step down in it so it looks like two.

i hope i also have more news tomorrow!!

and i would like to find who this mystery Ian guy is who wasn't on our list who i've received a tracking number for... tho this could be a tracking number for Paul, waiting confirmation on that too..

And Merli, i will find out if this duplicate shaft was ment for you tomorrow also! i have it at home now too. Plenty busy this afternoon!!!

just making everyone aware of my email to ACPT, quite frankly i am tired of all this and my customer is furious.

Hi,

I placed an order for a Nissan Skyline R34 GTR tailshaft with a custom extension of 27mm to make it 1095mm in length via a group buy on SKYLINES AUSTRALIA WEBSITE. It has been 4 months now since funds have been sent via Andrew Logan through Paul of "Street To Strip" and all my enquiries fail to have received information from you in regards to the solving of this debarcle. Others have received their shafts, not all of them... I have no tracking number, no shaft, no invoice, nothing, but i do know you were paid. I have information that some where someone messed up in regards to matching the items serial numbers to their invoices... I also have information that someone on your side now is claiming to have not sent all the shafts off even when it was stated by that person that they were...

ONE INDIVIDUAL WAS SENT 2 SHAFTS! How is that possible?

ONE INDIVIDUAL BY THE NAME IAN IS ON THE LIST OF BEING SENT AN ITEM WHEN HE ISNT EVEN PART OF THE GROUP BUY, MEANING HE DOESNT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH US!

WHAT IS GOING ON?!

4 months is a long time! We all even paid the change in exchange rate for the speeding up of the process over a month ago now when we were all told in the beginning that our purchase was finalised and deposits paid 4 months ago. I would like to know where my shaft is, and what is being done about this all. I have dealt with my very good and close friend Sean Morris from RB Motoring in California before with no issue, no hassles and that was for an R34 GTR race shell. A shaft is taking longer than a car/shell to get to me which is unlike the shell not sent in a container... I cant see how this process is failing to finish with a good conclusion.

My order was placed under the following details:

MARC PALMER

12 TILLI PLACE

WELSHPOOL

WESTERN AUSTRALIA, 6106

1 x R34 GTR tailshaft extended via carbon to 1095mm to fit holinger gearbox

I EVEN DREW A DIAGRAM OF THE LENGTH BETWEEN THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL AND THE HOLINGER GEARBOX.

I tried calling you at 5:18pm but as your answering machine states, you close at 5pm.

You can contact me on

I would like to have this problem resolved as soon as possible and without any complications.

Regards,

Marc P

after people started getting their shafts i figured all this was sorted. so i forgot about it then just realised i hadnt got the shaft yet. I check back here and see all this mess, half delivered, someone gets 2, serial numbers all mismatched and to top it off a mystery buyer FFS!! seriously i dont think this could be more of a mess if we tried! lol

Ill PM you back now Andrew.

have you got the tracking number and the courier line for me?

I'm hoping to hear something today, i do not have any tracking numbers for anyone in W.A.

only tracking numbers to those above listed (9 in total)

as for Ian, he may have been one of Pauls customers, (waiting to hear back on this also)

We have 8 confirmed and the 1 to "Ian" if we can clear that up there must be 4 shafts still in Usa.

I cant beleive that he thinks the Addresses are all mixed up and he didnt have the list when WRXKILLA has received his! (He was the very last change to the list and did not appear anywhere else before)

i'm truly sorry, but this is way out of my control

p.s. Peter i will try sort out yours also with your change in Address.

yep i know what you mean but it is bolted up as far as it would go, it makes sense to me that their would be another spacer like the one in the picture on page 2 at the uni joint end

OK

My shafts haven't arrived yet.

The photo's attached are of the ACPT Carbon shaft.

I was sent these pic's and the shaft comes with all of the new adapters and fittings as confirmed by JAMES of APCT.

Addvantages:

  • one piece design
  • stronger shaft and fittings to match
  • but still flexes and therefore will transmits less shock loads to the gearbox and diff
  • approximatly half the weigth of the std. steel shafts, this lighter recipricating mass will provide better revibility and response (everyone, that has fitted one, swears by them)

cheers Phil.

    • jeebus. glad you weren't under it while performing the stunt. Also thanks for the link to the wheel measurer, exactly what I needed
    • In the older stuff there were very significant differences 2wd to 4wd, for example Stagea had strut front end for 2wd and double wishbone for 4wd so it was not minor to swap. From poking around the 2wd v37, it *looks* like it might be more possible; some of the parts specifically have "2wd" stamped on them which suggests the platforms are more similar. You'd still want to start with a 4wd half cut to swap stuff from though. I'd suggest if you don't have a tune on the ECU you don't really need one on the trans either. Throttle mapping is in the ECU side (and you can always use a Roar Pedal if you want the throttle to actually respond to your foot), and really if you are happy with the stock power you probably accept the stock trans behaviour too....its all made to be "sporty" not racey.
    • So, updates. I have not washed the car since it came back from Tassie. I've driven it around a bit but not got around to actually sorting it out. I DID raise it because I cracked the rear bar leaving a hotel which was very distressing. Interestingly, the car drives more compliant now that it's raised a fair bit (5mm front, 15mm rear). Also noticed that my FR height was 10mm lower than FL. So that's now sorted out, too. I also bought this and had it printed: https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/1576422240/wheel-and-tire-fitment-tool-universal?ref=shop_home_feat_1&dd=1&logging_key=08f604d9fa4cc383550ba985e6ac85cd5cac7fbb%3A1576422240 Now, if I was smart I would have taken my brake calipers off to actually use this correctly but it was evident enough to me that in the region where the caliper was... there was nothing to hit suspension/guard/arm wise. So I'm going with "it'll be fine" after using the tool to hopefully very precisely measure the wheel clearance. Also while doing this, I had the very VERY bad idea of jacking one of the wheels/suspension arms up while the rest of the car was on jack stands. I did this to see how the arm would travel. This all was well and good until the car slid off the stands and went through a fence. So don't do that. Incredibly nobody was hurt and there was only minor damage to the rear bumper as the car didn't have far to slide, and had 3-4 wheels on it. The only damage turned out to be the fence itself which was easy to fix, and a little bit of damage to the fibreglass rear bumper trim. I had already planned to try a touch up paint kit to fix the time I drove into my garage door to see if it'd help in the interim before I get it fixed properly. I used the Dr Colorchip kit after looking online and seeing everyone talking about it. Yes it's made for chips and not huge broken missing pieces and I'll be 500% recommending it for stone chips after using it for stupid things like me. This took about ... 10 minutes and looking at the half assed photo the 30 second job I did on the bumper corner was almost perfect just by using the tiny little brush and painting it in. The sealact stuff to remove over-painting is really useful, so if/when I do it again I'll likely slather the touch up paint well over it and then clean it up with the cleaning solution. The wheels should arrive in a couple of weeks. I am still kinda confident after doing a stupid amount of measuring (and borrowing a set of 18x10.5+15) that they will not fit because I overlooked something, somehow and flew too close to the sun. ALSO R34 GTR guard liners do not fit on a GTT. I bought the undertray brake duct guides and had the wonderful problem of them not fitting my intake, my oil cooler and the liners themselves were even worse. Attempting to fit them won't work in general - You would have to cut them up as another poster mentioned as the bodywork is different on the GTT. At least I can try to resell them. So instead of cutting those up, I cut up my old already-cut-up GTT liners and extended them by using some PP plastic and drilling some 8mm holes for some nissan clips for the 'extra' bit. Because I was happy to cut them I was able to mount them pretty damn forward so I now have some semblance of guard liners, and the brake vents seal the bumper from the bottom. It sort-of-looks like this, to give some idea - If you look at the GTR and then the GTT this is when I realised that I needed to seriously measure as the inside of the rim area is entirely, entirely, entirely different and could not take any internet measurements for granted.
    • If you are Ecutek tuned then these TCU tunes are anywhere from $550 to $700 usd. If you are not ECUTEK tuned, then it gets costly!
    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
