OK, this isn't a joke, I honestly have NFI what this is, what it does or how it works.

I have found one on e-bay exactly the same, but a different brand, but the ad still doesn't say exactly what the hell it is :(

Ideas anyone?

with a claim like "Saves fuel up 5% to 35%" i'd say its a box full of lies and bullshit

captain_obvious.jpg

Thanks for that... :(

I have a feeling that it is along those lines, but I still want to know wtf is does and how it is supposed to do it...

thats got me totally stuffed how it could possibly do anything. Its got one air pressure fitting in the side and the guage but the brass bit on the bottom looks like an air exhaust port..like a silencer...I dont understand how this gadget can supposedly go onto any car and make the differences it does....

Annnd on that note, I would just like to qualify that I did NOT buy this, and do not own it (or desire to) I just want to know what the hell it is and what it is supposed to do.

hmm obviously ties into vacuum lines and alters airpressure...? might be a way of tricking computer to make it run leaner...?

Kompressor... beats me. Cool mercedes.

That sounds plausible but I don't think it would be tricking the ecu (unless it had a factory map sensor), more like vacuum leak before fuel reg to lower pressure and lean it out.

Sounds dodgy, buy it Dale! :)

I'd have to say you shove the thing into your ...um... ear and it feeds you a steady stream of BS. Looks like they have grabbed an old vaccuum guage, welded some air fittings to it, and stolen a bunch of gimmick stuff/advertising from other products/companies. My bet is it's supposed to do nothing at all except rip you off. You'd better buy all they have rooster. Then again it looks kinda like a chew toy for a staffy, might take mine more than 5 seconds to destroy it....

I discovered some information about this:

****Air Charger (Base on Mechanical)****

The system is a set of the component that will force the air drawn into the cylinder, and of cause by forcing the air, this will directly increase the air pressure and the air will drawn more and more faster. Then, during the cylinder valve is open, the air and the fuel mixture will rapidly fill in the space inside the cylinder in a high pressure. Due to this, more quantity of the air is allowed inside the cylinder.

An internal combustion engine can be view as a sophisticated air pump. Air is drawn into a cylinder along with a proportional amount of fuel. The mixture is compressed, ignited and expelled. The exploding air and fuel mixture is the source of the engine's power. The amount of power an engine makes is generally directly proportional to the engine's displacement. Displacement describes the cumulative volume of all the engine's cylinder. The bigger the engine's displacement, the higher the power the engine produces.

The system force more air and fuel into a cylinder than it could take in under atmospheric conditions. The more fuel and air in a cylinder, when ignited, the more powerful the resulting explosion. If you force 50% more air into a 3.2 liter engine it performs like 4.8 liter engine!

Instruction:

How to fix the micro kompressor on your vehicle:

1, Check original rpm before installing Micro Kompressor.(Ensure air-condition is on off mode).

2, Switch off the car engine.

3, Remove the hose connection from manifold supply air inlet.

4, Reconnect the hose with “ T ” join and link it to the additional hose provided.

5, Preferably fit the unit away from hear area.

6, Shorter hose would be much advantageous.

7, Place the unit slanting position at the angle ranging 15 to 45 degree gravity manitude.

8, Air vent-screw should be tighten up before switch on the car engine.

9, Start car engine and wait for a few minutes

10, Counter turning by adjusting the air vent-screw to obtain original rpm reading or engine become stable.

11, Instruction diagram printed on the box.

I discovered some information about this:

WTF? Talk about Engrish!! Thanks heaps for the info dude. Any chance of a link to your source? I want to know exactly how this thing does what it claims, because I still don't believe it.

ahaha - it sounds almost like one of those nitro RC booster bottles

it seems almost to store an air fuel/mixture on one pulse, and the next pulse it is sucked out, boosting the engine (albiet a pooftenth) and the next pulse re-charging again

WTF? Talk about Engrish!! Thanks heaps for the info dude. Any chance of a link to your source? I want to know exactly how this thing does what it claims, because I still don't believe it.

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
