If i do decide to upgrade the turbo it will be a GT35R .82 w/ported shroud like the 3076 i have now. Love the sound of it spooling :(

Also might see if i can get the collector cut off the manifold and have a split pulse one welded on.

It is a difficult choice, as the response VS power of the setup now is insane.

It may not be as simple as cutting off the collector and welding on a split pulse collector as the runners would need to grouped in such a way that each exhaust pulse fires into the correct side of the split pulse collector i.e. based on the firing order of the engine, each alternate exhaust pulse must fire into the opposite collector - otherwise high exhaust back pressure in the collector will be the result. Therefore, you would need to examine your firing order and exhaust manifold runner layout and firstly confirm this.

if it's still the original stainless manifold it isn't going to be an easy job to get it split properly. Its one with around 80mm of steel sheet between the merged runners and the flange so probably more dollars in custom work than it's worth. You'd basically have to remake half the manifold.

Even with a 6 boost or etm you'd have to chop off the merge collector and redo a fair chunk of manifold to get a decent result.

Is that the one softy was telling me about?

How does it go up macpass?

id love to hear what you think as ive got the gt3566-82r here waiting for my supra

New workshop looks the goods!

Mate call up GCG and talk to them about a 66mm front fan

thats the one, drove it for the first time today on 5 psi, went well. might wind some more boost in tomorrow.

i just put a gt37r on a supra, you know you want to. do it. :/;):P

How did it go? we have a built jobbie with gt40 on it, customer underestimated the setup and injectors ran out @ 425rwkw i reckon low 500's @ reasonable boost. I only ask as i have a 2.5l (from gizzmo elecronics) soarer here also with a gt40 and i reckon the 37 would have been better.

Got a graph by any chance?

Been a while so here is an update.

The GT3076 has been pulled off and will be replaced with a GT3582.

The new turbo has the new .70 surge slotted comp cover and .82 housing in single entry.

Had a nice oil catch/breather can custom made, with Speedflow fittings and braided lines snaking their way to new RB26 cam covers with Hi Octane Racing cam cover baffles, should keep the high RPM oil splashings at bay :)

The 26 covers were powder coated by "Craved" from CRAVED COATINGS, turned out very nice indeed!

Also have a Trust clear timing belt cover that will have to be "modified" so the VCT has room.

On our recent trip to Japan i picked up a Tomei Trax 2 way diff which ill be sending to Award Diff and Gearbox for them to work on.

Another tune is planned for the end of this month, should make around 420kw+ at the rears.

Gearing up for another big Powercruise in Feb. Cant wait to hand it to the big boys :)

That is excellent mate, feel free to share some photos when you can. I think I have to plan a Japan trip for some parts reconnaissance, so jealous after looking at those photos.

Good luck.

Post up pic's when you modify the cam gear cover :) I have RB26 covers on mine at the moment but left the RB25 cam gear cover on, it aint a perfect fit, but it aint that bad. Was thinking of getting a RB26 cam gear cover and modifying it.

You just going to cut the hole so the VCT sticks out a bit?

good sh1t Dave...wick her up mate. My car is coming back with me when i return at the end of the month...Powercruise is in Feb. eh?

Get in on it Paul. Nothing better than flying past blokes with engines sticking out of the bonnet.

Yeh have to get a small hole cut in the front of the cover, being clear plastic it shouldnt stand out hopefully.

yes and yes.

looks like you'll kill me on the straights though.

are there corners?...im out :)

might have to contact Peter at Fuel Control and get him to organise a 205ltr drum of CSR's finest to be delivered to us at the track.

Nathan/Dave, call me about supercruise :)

also Dave why the rb26 covers? Usually gtst owners just put the rear gtr badge on and leave it at that :) .....I'm expecting you to say something about oil control here

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
