I was out there on Sunday afternoon and it was perfect conditions, 19C sunny day no wind.

Far out these things are fast and here is the official times?

Natsoft

I did not get to see these cars and one is Elise Bozman and how do they go so fast? There was a yellow Camano Sports sedan which was the toughest looking thing I have seen at the track and he only did a 1 34. Tube frame fibreglass front end, massive aero and super low roof height and massive slicks with big chev in middle of the car.

Take off the slicks and giants car is much lighter and better suspension etc than when it was there last and ran 1 min 40 last year, and mine is much faster too. I last ran there nearly two years ago and did a 1 43.5. It will still be a big challenge though, as times under 1 min 40 for example even a second is heaps, and THANKS Bozzo.

OK the bar has just been raised for the 5th July!!!!!

Just had a look at the entries and noticed Mackie and Lucas have entered in the exiges!!!!!!!!!!

Peter Lucas just did a 1.34 around the creek on the weekend, while Tim Mackie did a 1.37!!!!!!!

So Lucas is 5 seconds faster than Berry around the creek and 9 seconds faster than Penlington.

Yes these times were done on slicks. These are proper race cars that have entered and are able to run in open. We are all up sh!t creek.

Awesome! IS the specs of the 1:34 and 1:37 cars the same? Im guessing that the 1:34 is the ex-European GT3 Exige or similar etc?

how did they do in the race? is it possible they f**ked the timing? it's happend before many a time. cause bill pye may be just a rich pig farmer but he doesn't mess about. and i would be surprised to see him in his cup car 4 and a half seconds off the pace. I have to say though peter lucas has really bought things on a long way in the last few years. when we ran robs car in prod sports the first 8 or so spots were always filled by 996 cup cars with the few lotus way down the back a fair way off the pace. though I'm guessing peter has upgraded machinery too as he wasn't in A class before in the lotus he was running.

nup, it must be right. he was doing 1:36s in the race. very impressive. the michelein slicks are a good thing too.

At least these things are not aloud to race and big balls or what??? Sorry coud be female drivers??? NOT>........

All three Elise models on the Lotus website (Elise S, Elise R and Elise SC) are specced with 1.8L engines...

I saw at lotus that sounds similar to this at wakefield late last year. It had an s2000 motor supercharged.

Do they qualify for superlap given they have had a transplant?

I think you will find that they are a K20 front wheel drive engine and gearbox as found in Integra and Civic Type R's.

Cheers

Gary

with turbos on them too I'm guessing???

how does that fit into prod sports? I always thought they had to run the original engine? Marque sports was the "anything goes" category for sports cars... guess it must have changed...

That would be it :P Thanks Gary.

Especially given the standard engine orientation (east west).

They have alloy Honda block and whole car weighs about as much as a big motorbike? No not really but silly light, as in 700kg or less I believe and supercharged not turbo. I might think different about supercharged engines now.

Rather then something that has been bolted together in a backyard i would suggest they are a race derivative of the Exige from one of the European GT3 series. Here are some specs of one i have saved in my favourites :D

- Toyota 1.8 2ZZZ Charge-cooled and supercharged 320bhp

- Dry sump

- Hewland PCT 6 Speed Sequential Transmission (flat shift)

- Limited Slip Differential

- Switchable Traction Control

- 2007 Wide-body

- Quick Release Carbon Fibre Front and Rear Clams and Rear Wing

- Air Jack System

- Digital Dash

- 6-point FIA Approved Roll Cage

- Removeable Steering Wheel

- FIA and HANS Approved Recaro Seat and Race Harness

- Ohlins 4-Way TTX Dampers

- Aluminium Uprights

- AP Twin Master Cylinder System with Dial Bias Adjuster

- 6-Pot AP Front Brake Callipers

- Centre Nut Hubs

- Lotus Sport 5 Spoke Alloy Wheels (10 Inch Rear Wheels)

If i have guessed right then there shouldnt be any real surprise that the thing is as quick as it is

    • I ordered a GSP Front R/H Axle from here - https://justjap.com/products/gsp-premium-front-driveshaft-r-h-nissan-r32-r33-r34-skyline-gtr-stagea-4wd#description It lasted around a year before one of the boots blew out. I'm lowered, but I have GKTech roll center adjusters. One year seems a little premature. I think I'm going to spend the extra money on an OEM cv axle this time. This website - https://tfaspeed.com/collections/nissan-stagea-wgnc34-x-four-parts/products/nissan-stagea-awc34-260rs-rb26-right-front-axle-drive-assembly Makes it sound like the readily available OEM CV axle will only fit 11.1999 Stagea and up (mine is a 2.1997 S1). The JustJap listing didn't mention any years or anything for the GSP axle. Amayama shows '11.1999' and up as well for that part number. As well as 'plastic boot type'. See attached picture. So I guess my question is, does that axle (39100-23U60) really only fit S2 Stagea? It's the front driver side. If it does, I'd love to buy that instead of rolling the dice on another GSP. I've found that OEM one cheaper here: https://www.partsfornissans.com/oem-parts/nismo-jdm-r32-r33-r34-skyline-gtr-r32-gts4-right-front-axle-3910023u60 and here https://www.nissanparts.cc/oem-parts/nismo-shaft-ft-drive-3910023u60 Just a little confused because the JapSpeed listing for the GSP front driver axle doesn't mention any specific years or anything and it fit my S1 Stagea fine. So will 39100-23U60 fit my S1 Stagea even though technically it says '11.1999' and up? What would have changed? Thanks.
    • Thanks for the info. The only "Issue" I've had with the shifter is I always found the throw between 4th and 6th gear too close. I'm always worried to shift into 4th accidently and sending my motor to the moon. Adam LZ recently came out with a video and stated Serialnine revised their shifters to correct this and will change all the revised parts for 150$. Strangely enough, I contacted Serialnine right after and they denied it and said it's bullshit. I found that strange as he's a distributer. I'll keep this forum post updated on that saga.
    • Yep that is correct. It allows you to adjust the short throw range from what I can tell
    • Car has been running great, I've put about 300km's of break in time on it. First thing that stands out with properly sealing rings is no more noticeable crankcase smell coming out of my catch can. This may seem insignificant, but the constant smell while driving around was infuriating. It's also nice to see my oil level remain stable. Two new issues have developed that I only noticed this weekend though. There's a very noticeable driveline vibration past 100kmh. I only noticed it now as I've been babying it under 100kmh in the backroads. This comes as no surprise as I'm running a one-piece shaft, and I paid zero attention to my driveshaft angle when I put everything back in. I also have a fair bit of voltage drop on hot starts. The starter audibly is forcing. No issues on cold start though. I must not have removed all the paint under my main block ground during assembly. I'll try and take care of both those issues this week once the kids are asleep.  I also received all the parts I was missing for my direct port setup. I will hopefully have pictures of that up soon. I'm hoping to get back on the dyno the week of June 30th as I'll be on vacation. I'm confident I should be able to make north of 500rwkw on pump gas and WMI. I'll go back again later this summer with E98, but I want to confirm my ethanol content sensor is working properly first. I've never seen it read anything but 11%. This makes sense for our 10% ethanol content pump gas here, but I would expect the occasional movement between fill ups.
    • 75% complete. Will now need to get a new axle with 5x114.3 hubs and then figure out how to customize some mudguards for it once the wheels are on.
