i seem to have the same issue. mods are fmic, full exhaust, Mines ECU, Bee*R panel filter, high flowed turbo and ebc. run it streeter at 14psi no worries. run it at wsid at 14 i get the same issue as shayne. wind down to 12psi ran good, back up to 14psi then shit, then back to 12 it was still shit...duno wtf is going on...get new coils? injectors?..

Are you running the stock fuel pump....?

Sounds like a fuel delivery problem....

How does it cut out.........

Does she miss-fire and become all jerky or is it just like she slows down ?

Miss-firing etc..is coils, spark gap, timing and afm related.

If she just slows ....it is fuel and boost leak related.

Hope this helps.

hi i am able to rev to 8500-9000 on 7 lbs of boost any more and it is like the rev limiter is coming on at 6000,i have tried timing, no good.

Hi mate - does it sound a bit like a rally car? Sort of brup brup brup brup really fast? If so, it's your spark breaking down, get new plugs and gap to 0.8 and tape/epoxy your coil packs (instructions in general maintenance forum). If that doesn't fix it, you might need to go for split fire coils.

As also mentioned, if it is more like a total cut out it could be fuel delivery. Are you running the standard pump?

Also, you shouldn't really be reving the engine to 8500, that's too high for the stock motor unless it has been re-built and balanced for high revs.

no im running a bosch 500hp full pump

and i have hks cams and eng is a2.7ltr stroker!!! :)

If you have the mods to handle 8500-9000rpm get the car on a dyno as you wouldn't want to break the thing.

Chances are coils are buggered.

or if its still an rb25det head the valves are floating. :)

it is a gtr head,i have gapped the plugs, nail polished the coil packs and still no good, i will keep trying

    • I don't know, I've never done it that way, but 1. While it is an interference engine, there is still clearance between the valves and the piston at all points in the regular timing cycle 2. There is not a lot of distance before you can't catch the top of the valve stem any more I don't know if 2 is greater or less than 1. But 3. If it doesn't work out you are f**ked, engine is coming out to disassemble so it is a big bet.
    • Semi slicks are horrible for road use, just use a high performance road tyre unless you really need the maximum grip. Noisy, unpredictable (amazing, until they are not), expensive due to very high wear and not good in cold and particular wet. And yes, it is a thing to store cars on stands instead of tyres if you know they are going to be parked up long term.....but who ever realises that a short park is going to stretch into years before it is out again!
    • I know in Australia you'll definitely get above 30c. Parked in the shade in Summer you'll be above that. 😛 But in cooler climates, you might get that warm driving on the highway for a bit, but you'd never get to full heat temp. I'll try and find some of my historical tyre temps between Aus summer and winter (be aware immin the warmer area of Aus too.)
    • I get that taking off the head is best but that's a bit much for "just" valve seals. I was just under the impression that one would be able to rotate to TDC and be able to temporarily drop the valve without losing it and effectively having to remove the head to then recover it. I never knew people actually pushed rope into the cylinder to do valve seals hahaha So just to confirm, just going to TDC will not work? In that case I know when I do valve seals I'll maybe just remove the head and do some other things while I'm there, or just wait until I do an engine build.
