Hi all. live in an apartment, therefore its parked in the open at nights. There was a holden stolen from the carpark yesterday in broad daylight..... so its made me extra cautious about my baby!

i have a mongoose alarm in my car, and a steering bar thingy. plus i unplug the coil loom every night.. i want to disable more circuitory.. eg starter, fuel pump..

if i unplugged the CAS, would the motor start at all??

i want to disable the fuel pump and starter too.. how can i do that??? sorry im just really paranoid since my cars the "most eye catching" in our apartment....

any help woudl be much appreciated. :P thanks

look into getting a kill switch installed...

got one done for the fuel pump, simple on/off switch hidden away where the diagnositic plug is kept, just under the steering wheel to the right...

pretty sure most auto electricians can do it...

another way to piss any thieves off :P

thats true.

i was interested in the injectors.. i had a look just before.. does the injector loom have a single plug? (like the coil loom) if so then i can unplug it in the engine bay at nights.

Just add a little twist to the " Kill Switch" idea. Use a reed switch.Mount it anywhere behind plastic ( dash, etc.,), where it can't be reached by hand. You know where it is, and you switch it with a magnet from the outside. You can, with 2 or 3 relays make it so the magnet only needs to 'close the switch to start with. then it is OK until engine switched off. So the car is auto disabled as soon as it is switched off. You can kill ignition, fuel, whatever you want ( or boyh together]. Depending how neat you do the wiring, so it's not physically obvious, it'll take an Auto/lec all day to find it.

Get reed switches from security installers - used on building alarm systems. Or electrical wholesalers.

or perhaps get some from work :P

that is actually a really good idea... now im thinking... u could also use a coded magnet... unless u have the specific magnet and sensor, uve got no chance in starting the car... we use them all the time at work in our machines...

Yes, that's good. Glad I did'nt know about it. That way I did the circuit myself ( without the kill switch) I like mine better.

I'll dig out my circuit and try to post it. Love the 'coded magnet' idea of the previous post, BUT don't lose it!!

once its scanned, save it as a jpg file or something... when u post again, look down and right and ull c a "Browse..." button. click on that and find the file u saved. click ok. click the green "UPLOAD" button and wait... thats it...

yeh "kill switch" is kind of a wrong name... should be something more like "start switch" or something...

Thanks, I tried. Tried all sorts of places to scan it into, but got " X Upload failed. You are not permitted to upload this type of file." Had a good look at it ( even upside down) STILL did'nt look pornographic even from that angle. Guess everyone will just have to use their imagination. Pity.

"type of file" refers to the "filename.***" the *** part is the file type. jpg, doc, txt, mpg are file types... probably the most common image file is jpg. when u scan the file, save the file as "image.jpg" if u can...
