I got bored......

Premium sports package actually.

On a serious side, a daily driver/run around is probably the best way to avoid defects full stop.

I know its not feasable for alot of people but even to buy a $500 shitter and run it into the ground can save you a lot more in the long run should you get fined.

Hey guys , I hate to say it but the police are a necessary evil , the have a job to do , and some make it harder for them .

I have been pulled over several times and had both good and bad cops , some with a great attitude and others just looking for an excuse to give you an ass kicken !

I think when some people get pulled over , at that point in time they may have been doing nothing wrong , but in the past have brought attention to themselves and gained a reputation !

I knew a guy who had his 180sx impounded for drifting , when he got the car back he was getting pulled over left right and centre ! He sold the car to buy a late model BMW , once the police found out he owned it , same thing again ! I think everyone has a valid point to make !

Tell that to the cops who pull me over for no apparent reason to defect me because i drive a skyline.

same here...i did a uturn (not illegal) and they pulled me over....they were undercover...then told me follow them to defecting station under orangegrove

I agree 100% :D

My r31 has had its ups and downs...but cheap to run, no one ever looks at it and I can leave it anywhere!!

From my expirience with the cops No.

Got defected a few years ago, and a few months ago got pulled over for a RBT, cop checked his computer and said i got defected a while back, Then he asked what i got defected for (it was for my exhaust and pod). I lied and told him it was for having bold tires, he then breath tested me and went onhis way

I dont think there system tells them exactly what the defect was for.

Cheers

Tim

ahh defects....

i jus got my defects cleared after this highway patrol coppa got me on a full inspection blue slip for bald front tyres, no h pattern on the gear stick and bov.

took a while to fix, car rego got cancelled and finally today got the rego back and now all sweet.

i was jus drivin normally to a mates place and he let about 10 cars drive past him, lancer with a zorts, old bomb corolla, shity pulsar, and a worked up 200 bright yellow with massive rims, let them all go except me, i was the only one he pulled over...

i closed my mouth didnt say a word, was nice, polite, didnt give him shit nuffin

but still gave me a full inspection....

cops do what they like when they like, i think defects come with the car, gotta learn to live wit em

i agree 100% get a run around, lil swift or sumtin, ull save money on petrol too !!!!

on that note, anyone selling a bomb, for under 1000 ???

if so pm me lol

I'd like to know what happens if u get defected and you haven't fixed those defects within the required period.

Is it only a concern if you get pulled over by the Police? I just got defected 4 bald rear tyres and am curious

Cops can radio the station and ask for your details if they aren't finding something about you on their in-car database. I've seen them do it. They have a wealth of personal information at their fingertips.

So lying isn't really a good idea. Just play dumb and innocent, it might get you a better mood from the cop than "bend over time!", get me?

I can confirm that the police can not bring up specific details in car. All they get is 'Defect Notice. Issued (Date)' roughly and that's about it... Doesn't say that you got defected for this or that, just says that you were defected.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
