Man thats screwed.

I live in River Downs and travel that road quite a lot. will keep an eye out. glad to hear that you are ok. the ony thing with speeding is that if the cops catch you, they will try and say that you were racing or hooning, and thus confiscate your car. i guess it means that the cops are involved but it is a bad thing to have to do.

once again gald you are ok

Rolla Boy

i got followed by 2 fellas in a white vl for ages , after about 10 or so turns i pulled over and pull out the axe that i carry around and they did a u turn and took of , this is around mt. ommaney in bris.

club lock or a 4 or 6 cell mag light or some sort of large tool like a wrench would be the most legal "weapon"

Some people I know who carried baseball bats in their cars had them confiscated.

just on another note, say you got busted by a fixed speed camera going at 100+km/h how would you get away with it?

Interesting point.

What would be our recourse if we were the victim of an attempted car jacking, especially if we went to the police straight after the event, showed them the physical damage to the car and made a formal complaint.

If we then received a speeding notice in the mail, would we have enough extenuating circumstances to get off (like if you can prove that your car was used for a medical emergency, you can get off)?

Might be one to be decided in the courts methinks.

AHH but if a speed camera got u it would more than likely get them aswell coz they are chasing u. Could be a good opportunity to find out who the dudes were>??

Yeah you would hope so.

But hypothetically I was thinking that the next time I get done by a speed camera, I might just put a bit of paint damage to the rear bumper, go to the police and claim that someone was trying to car jack me.

Might work - Hypothetically of course :(

    • They are under bucket shims. Tomei provides a test shim kit and then any measurement of shim required.
    • I always wondered how you were supposed to buy a set of 24 buckets and somehow magically have every single one of them yield exactly the desired clearance. I would have thought you'd need to assemble a cam with either 12 "sample" or "example" buckets of known top thickness (or a single such sample/example 12 times over!!) measure clearances at every valve, and then do the usual math to work out what the actual "shimness" of each bucket needed to be, before buying the required buckets to make up he thicknesses that you didn't have on hand.
    • I now seem to be limited in power due to my rev limit/hydraulic lifters in my built RB25. I'm looking into converting over to Tomei solid lifters. Question for anyone that has done the conversion. I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  I don't know where I got this idea, as so far I see no mention of this in any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must be missing something?
