Guys - have a look at this - it covers all the info you need to know.

They are not Eagle rods, they are not Scat rods - see the pics in the link. Competition Tuning here is Bris have an FJ20 making near 600rwhp with SPOOL rods now - thats near 200bhp per rod.

i have an adjustable cam gear to suit rb25 which is " spool " brand, it seems to have the same quality in looks as the other top brands but i have never fitted it and am getting rid of it because i wasnt sure of the quality...

Dont be afraid of them, I use them and they are fine. just replace the washers under the locking screws for slightly larger ones for a more definite lock and you will have no probs.

The Spool stuff is nice and hard to beat for value, i was also under the impression they were scat items originally but have since been informed by my buyer that they may be coming from the same company we source from as he has one other aus account. This same factory supplys some name brand gear into japan and the USA inc V8 SR and GTR stroker cranks. Rest assured the gear is spot on. I have a few sr and RB cranks on the way for testing.

im sure spool will inform me if im way off.

I would not risk using them they seem to cheap, and very poor quality :D

Your statement appears to be the same. Perhaps you should back up what you say with some solid facts before making yourself look stupid....which you have already done. Alot of people are useing them with no problems.

Weve been using spool rods in our race car over the last few years. If i can get a dyno printout from Mercury...I can show that we made over 620hp+ at the rears whilst wheelspinning...ofcourse the motor had spool rods in it! Thats about 700-800bhp @ the crank if an accurate hp reading could have been obtained.

Whose else has big hp figures with them?

Spoolup, These are the rods the engine builder used in my car.. know anything about them? they seem fine and they wont be making more then 650 - 700 bhp ever..

They work well for me, and they are 850.00 inc gst

Forged Conrods are a must for a bullet proof rebuild on your turbocharged engine. This allows the stress to be taken off the bottom end under high rpm and high boost. Of course forged pistons are not essential, but are highly recomended.

Precision Motorsport rods are manufactured from certified 4340 steel, vacuum degassed to remove impurities, and multistage heat treated. Each forging is X-rayed, and shot peened to relieve stress, and all surfaces are 100% machined.

H-Beam Connecting Rods Feature:

NEW 4340 Certified Forged Steel Rod

ARP 5/16 2000 capscrew bolts standard

Silcone Bronze bushings for floating pins

Precision alignment sleeves positively locate the rod cap, eliminating cap walk

Packaged in weight matched sets end to end +/- 1 gram

Rated for upto 750 horsepower (Same as the limit of the factory RB30 Crankshaft)

    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
