it dosnt help that your cars wine red colour aswell.

it helps alot if you have black/silver/whites

they seem to the biggest demand

its not really the price thats the problem with r33s. the problem is that you can always find one cheaper, and better....somewhere....

seems to be the thing with r34s these days aswell =[

R32 GTST = 7k - You must mean AUTO and 4 door and 89 model in faded silver with tweed interior.

R32 GTR = 18k - +$10K for rebuild

R33 GTST = 14k - You must mean a really good condition Series 2

R33 GTR = 22k - +$10K for rebuild

R34 GTT = 20k

R34 GTR = 50k

Just made a few adjustments to the above..

in reality though, a 1992 R32 gtst fetches the same if not more than a series 1 R33.

If you actually manage to get offered $12K for your skyline, I'd grab it with both hands.

People keep saying "oh the market for imports has really gone down of late.."

if by of late you mean 5 years, then yes.. it has gone down.

there are HEAPS to choose from.

there a HEAPS of people who can't afford them.

HEAPS of competition.

in reality, if you want to sell your car, advertise it for a high $11K figure and expect to sell for something between $10.5K - $11K

If I were you, i'd start collecting stock parts.

get your car back to stock, and sell it for $10K... Bargain for the person buying it.

then sell your good bits like wheels, cooler, suspension, recaro seat etc on their own to maybe make back another $2K?

But most people can't be farked doing all that and just take the loss.

money talks mate.

I rocked up to see a car with $2900 LESS than the advertised price.

Gave him my offer, he said no.

I showed him the wad of bills and said "We'll I'm sure someone else will be willing to trade a whale for this.."

Drove it home.

GTR R33 was only 22k nowa days? thats a real drop

R34 GTT = 20k ???? I saw most r34's on the 24k mark with reasonably low km's but most of them are coloured black/white. Silver/yellow/red i see around for 20k mark :P

R32 GTS-T = 7k!??? you kidding? shouldn't it be atleast 10k?

To be honest i think the price drops are at its limit except for the gtr's and gtt r34.

I disagree.

$1.55 for regular unleaded here in Brisbane.

so I assume sydney is $1.65

add 10 cents for 98 octane fuel.

not many people can afford to keep up with this these days.

they will have to sell the car.

like I said, plenty of people selling their cars.

heaps of competition.

the price will keep going down.

I also disagree with the $7K for R32 GTST.

unless like I said, early model with auto and really bad condition.

i am not thinking about selling because of fuel price they dont bother me i am thinking about selling because i want to buy a 33 gtr

There are 133 R33's in carsales.com.au for private sale in victoria

so from that, its a buyers market, they can pick and choose any number of combinations at the price they want

and they would likely get it too - given there are so many for sale

no i think that list looks pretty spot on to me. although yes of course some that fetch that money arent in good condition, just as many are in great cond too. most people are in a hurry to get rid of their 'lines at the moment.

but I do agree that a wine red series 1 with 141000 kms would be lucky to fetch anything over the 11-12 grand mark AT THE MOST today. Like has been said, its definitely a buyers market at the moment. rising fuel costs, the models age increasing, all adding to more people wanting to sell theirs. on top of that wine red skylines seem to be worth a lot less because of their colour being so common, and it being the least visually appealing to most people (i could be totally wrong on that statement, just judging by how much less wine red skylines sell in comparison to the same in a different colour)

im in the same boat as you, i have a 95 series 1 in the two tone blue/grey, with a few more mods than yours, and a lot less k's, and unfortunately i know im not gonna be able to get much more than 11 or maybe even 12 grand if im lucky for it.

BUT that being said, on the plus side is that even though gtsts arent selling for much, 33 gtrs have dipped significantly in price over the last 6-12 months as well, some importers ive looked into can get you one for about the 20-25k mark incl compliancing and some if not all on road costs. ive seen 33 gtrs for private sale for anywhere between 20-30k mark as well.

If your looking to upgrade to a 33 gtr, either way its gonna cost you at least another 10-15k after you sell your gtst

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
