I've been researching stag prices on the online importer sites & mailing lists for ages and ages and I think this is about the best I've found, and it just appeared yesterday.

So not everybody is looking for the combination I was after:

- FULL days kit (front AND rear bars)

- silver

- leather (preferrably Prime)

But here it is, with (almost) all the options:

http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/index.php?ID=12946

And it's under 12 grand delivered. Are fuel prices biting big imports, or what??? That's a flippin' bargain

Would've bought this one if I hadn't bought my pearl white one already - white was a compromise for me, I like silver better  but hard to choose between them I think, both awesome.

...just my daily auction opinion :bunny:

You want depressing, try owning a JZX100 right now: on average a 20%-25% drop in local prices over the last 10 weeks: Looks like we'll be keeping Peta's car for a while yet: not worth selling it anymore... :)

6 months ago i paid 16k for a 96 stagea.....yeh i guess i paid a lot but it was top notch condition, unmodified and i didnt have to travel far to buy it. also no waiting for importing and compliance. at least thats what i tell myself

same here. paid $16,300 for mine just over a year ago. untouched. completely stock with only a rear cannon on it.

travelled 25 mins to buy it. best car i have ever owned.

Yeah I paid $20K for my series 1 beginning 2006, spent $6000 last year one body kit, respray, timing belt, c.v's, fmic, safc and sitc....etc then have just spent another $6000 in the last couple of weeks on new brakes, M.V shift kit, splitfires, O2 sensor, SK Suspension Kit, HID's, new plumb back BOV and some other crap.

So now have spent $32000 to date on it ;):D:( Could buy a 260RS for that money now. And considering the amount of work done to my car I'd get 11K maybe for it, so do you think I'm selling anytime soon????? or EVER for that matter :D

Thats a really good price compared to this one

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=128358364

at nearly $18k without leather (but with 5 spd manual). A good series I is now around $7k - $8k and series II $11 to $15k but RS260 are still around $25k in NZ. I guess that's the effect of premium (98ron) at $1.25 a litre

...ah was thinking WTF until I worked out that must be $NZ!! Yeah I think that the price of fuel might be starting to hurt the resale value of turbo imports

    • I also used Knox driveshafts when I the slip yoke T56 to the 3bolted TR6060 type. I believe I was one of his first jobs as it literally changed hands when I was there, started by the old owner and finished by the new. Everyone seemed pretty great about it. So wasn't shy/seemed pretty knowledgeable when dealing with weird custom people like me.
    • Just a reminder orange park was cool back in the day   and drifting the main circuit was even cooler   f**k I miss that car
    • We used Knox Drive shafts years ago when we were doing gravel rally, good guy but I heard it had changed hands? He's got a lot of stuff and is miles cheaper than GJ and so on. He used to have a lathe setup with a MIG torch on the tool holder so he could get the uni welds just right, quite a clever guy. I just got a driveshaft done for my sequential installation and that was through Balancing Services Australia in Preston, they did the Gibson cars in the old days. New genuine CV's, billet yoke, new centre bearing and chome moly shaft was $2k.
    • Thanks for sharing that mate, I've got a couple of spares on the shelf but all the unis are tight....will give old mate a shout. BTW are you sure it wasn't just a $400 paint job? Any detail of what they replaced (cut/reweld?)
    • Yeah I saw that about the US Q50 recently, apparently it was shown to Inifiniti dealers (probably to help with their depression about the cars they can sell). Seemed like a really obvious step to me, the platforms are very similar in many ways. Even if there aren't many people who actually put the money up it should really help with image/reputation. What hasn't been clear anywhere if that is a V38 model of if they are just going to add the trans as an option in a new model year. What they did with the Z from 370z to "Z" is just weird so I'd be surprised if they released this as a V38. Great news for me to have an option; it is far from confirmed that I can get any decent track sessions through the auto so having a manual I can swap to is great.
