could we keep it if instead of the cars racing around the track we have the grid girls running around hte track?

in any case, voted yes - dont understand how its losing money though hmmm....must be bernie digging around for spare change....

I don't understand why you wouldn't want to keep it in Melbourne? Unless those who voted 'no' are from interstate and are just jealous. :P

plenty of people in Melbourne want it gone. Too self obsessed to be slightly put out for a few days of the year.

Voted...

But Bernie only listens to these

he's probably only really interested in copious quantities of the purple note, uleh

it is but it isn't. The 4 day event runs at a loss of 40 million or whatever it is, but they don't include how much the revenue it brings in to the hotels, clubs, shopping etc when you add all that it's not running at so muxh of a loss if any plus it shows Melbourne to the world which hopefully brings tourist's here

you host a race event at your place so i can sell hotdogs out front

so what if you lose money, i'll be rolling in it (your logic).

the way i meant it is like you have to spend money to make money, victoria would make alot back on tourism but the media doesnt focus on that

To another country...

One that will be happy to host a night time GP.

I don't know if the locations that are under consideration at the moment could really compete with what Melbourne offers, I always thought the start of the f1 just after our summer here was great.

If Bernie wants a night race, and Melbourne don't want to put one on, then any country willing to do so can more than compete with Melbourne...

I've voted but unfortunately the sad truth of it is that the GP won't be here for much longer. The Vic Govt doesn't want it here anymore, Bernie doesn't care whether it's here anymore and attendence has been dropping. It's a sad state of affairs but the reality is that money talks and Bernie wants more of it.

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
