Well done Snowball, you'll be accepted in a heartbeat! :)

Accomodation suggestions (where I stay)

Targa Rookie;

During recce and up to morning of day 2 - The Olde Tudor Motor Inn (closest to Silverdome)

Night of day 2 into Hobart, Hotel 429 (across road from casino)

Wrest Point;

Again, Hotel 429 unless you're particularly monied and stay at the casino.

I know the course probably isn't confirmed at this stage, but I think you will find Targa Rookie starts and finishes in Launceston. So no need to move!

But seriously you guys doing the Rookie will LOVE it, easy event to step up into. I had a farken ball even though we finished closer to the bottom due to an engine failure on day 1.

I had an even bigger ball with Benny this year doin the full thing!

All good mate - I'll sus out the options for Launceston but I figure there isn't the panic there that there is for say Strahan. (Which I'm happy to know doesn't effect me for next year)

I'm guessing the best thing for Targa Tas is to get there on the Saturday right (Friday night boat) and have a look around for the weekend before all the offical stuff starts on Monday?

And also for Targa Wrest Point getting there Friday morning should be fine yeah - there's nothing other than Scrutiny on the Friday and there should be plenty of time to get from the boat to Hobart and have all that done on Friday. There is no Friday prologue or anything planned for running orders for it is there? (Stu!?)

I'm just trying to book all the boats, accomm and everything as I've been a classic in the past for not booking things in time for events and being left with a serious lack of options.

Targa Rookie course will be Launceston-Launceston. Yeah use the weekend to recce with Monday for more recce in between doco, scrutiny with breifing and the welcome function from 6:30 I think it will be.

Targa Wrest Point, correct no prologue... cars will be seeded instead (I'm open to bribes!). Friday for this event will be doco, scrutiny, brefing and welcome function.

So leave at least a solid day for a good recce Snowy for Wrest point, I'd recommend two days for you to settle in, have a beer etc....

It's GTR country down that way buddy! Nice n bumpy n grotty :banana:

I see you have commandeered Ness for a recce next month, fun fun! :D

Hey Ben I watched your George Town prologue footage on the weekend - geez that looks like a whole lot of fun. But also really suprising that it is allowed! LOL - I just can't imagine anyone on the main-land letting people do that.

Although someone needs to teach you how to edit your footage - the 2min wait at the start of each one is unnecessary :banana:

lol... yeah it's a bit of fun :banana:

Mt Buller last did a similar prologue in 2006, but apparently a couple of likely regulars were continually spinning/outbraking themselves and making it too dangerous.

Only the silly folk/heroes go really hard in prologue, as it doesn't leave you any buffer in front of the sweep car (at Targa and most others fastest prologue car leaves last). Get behind the sweep, she'll all over for the day.......

lol... by the way, how many seconds you reckon the missed gears cost us?

Haha - I didn't want to mention that little whoopsy :banana:

I just presumed you thought you may have been going a bit quick and wanted to lose a bit of time since it did happen near then end. That's how it was yeah!? :D

lol.. no, not at all :D Take a second look and see juuust how many there was :D Not making excuses, but I will anyway :banana: I hadn't driven the car since Dutton Vic, and there something definately wrong with the gearbox mount, or shifter ball, or something, coz it was bad! I struggled all Tugga and I'm not know for rushing gears...... and the crew didn't dig too deep looking... beers were more attractive it seems :(

Yeh good chat tossa! lol

Hey, as an aside, called Deano friday for a chat. He was picking up his "new" toy... not a tarmac rally car but still of interest I guess... if you like that kinda thing. And orange, you gotta like orange.

Should go a bit of alright at Sandown I reckon aye Snowy? :banana:

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product,that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
