yea the jap spec bluebird with the z18 turbo came with IRS back in it to. maybe a cheaper alternative to building a dr bar the fact they are ugly as sin. haha.

one of the blokes down here built one as a gravel rally car. i think they won there class 2 years running.

timmy has spoken to the bloke that has it in length as im not sure im alowed to make this public knolage.... but he used to have one..... and it was modified..... haha.

Wouldn't be a bad caper, Z18 would probably hold you back since they are getting hard to find parts for...

Oh and I still have a bluebird, its actually a light weight chassis edition! Finding a new how soon though and will no doubt turn into a khanax hack.

Speaking of VC/VH Commies this has come up for sale

would be a good base, or even just a good car to drop a 20/25/30 (since its ready all ready to drop one in)

Although not truly being a rotary person I can't help but be convinced by their perfromance and so for Classic...

a JDM series 3 RX-7 Turbo run under MS with 13B and Group C guards would have to be of the best cost effective answers to the 911 RS'.

Cheap to buy, EFI controlled, a great handler even before the cage and chassis prep, and the rules have heaps of tollerence to address all the standard cars sort falls, plus it looks good and those that don't love it will have to suffer the sound!

It appears that not only do you have to have a turbo charged Mazda to run Modern, Showroom, Early Modern but now Classic, you need to seek professional help from somebody in a white coat.laughing-smiley-014.gif

Group C kits and guards are a tollerence that used to be in years ago, but was removed, BUT will be now back in to encourage more of the Group C style cars, particually the Commodores and Falcons... the crowds love them obviously and there are a few of each (Commo and Falc) in the build.

I'd better go buy GT-R again to try and start looking creditable!

Spoke to Lawse the other week about the Z. Will catch up next time I'm in the neighborhood.

Who do you know that has a really wicked Datto 240Z Stu? YT called me the other day, saying someone offered him one for Classic Adelaide, but he was too pissed to rememeber.

Any ideas?

Sierra XR8?

Google it Woo. South African special like the Perana Capri. 1984 (?) onwards 4 dor Sierra shell (think XR4i) with a 302 V8 shoved in the front.

I work with a Saffa who was a major player in the race car scene there in the 80's/90's, and there were many specials to be had. Most of them homologated, although even Mr Benson's love for a good rotor may not stretch to a 20B Mazda 323?

Googled it...... has some promise, good thing is it's carbie'd, not that rotten injection they ran in the later 302's.

One must wonder what the balance is like though and how the hell you'd keep a rear end in it within the rules once you had a fit Windsor in it?

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
