yes sounds feasible - but are you planning to run the neo lifters as well ? So you will have an under bucket shim and a over buck shims ( sounds like to many shims :-) ) - or are you planning to run a different lifter bucket ?

ok, it seems your right but i think i have a plan. Im gona use gtr retainers and shims as they shim from underneath, so that will imitate the tipping your talking about. then, ill have to find some springs thatll be suitable or get some made, that shuldnt be too much of a prob. wat do ya think wise one?

Im guessing Autronic SM4??? I just picked up a new AEM 30-1900U universal EMS to run my 30NEO :) . I probably wouldnt have bought it if i had to pay retail price for it (around $US2800) But i got got it cheaper. The main deciding factors for me was twin knock sensor control built in which i dont believe the E11v2 or the wolf V500 has, as well as dual wideband 02 controllers built in. the only downside is it only has 5 ignition outputs so i have to run wastespark setup on a 6 cylinder.

oh by the way spoolup, to reply to your last post, i havnt really had time to work on the head, but thats the plan: run gtr retainers, make sims for underneath, and also run the shims on top, although i think ill grind the top ones lower and have a thicker shim on the bottom

looking nice, did you just put the rb26 covers on?

What was hitting with the bonnet? I hear somepeople having issues when running the stock manifold because of the extra height, but with a greddy plenum i would of thought that would of given enough clearance??

how much chopping do you need to do?

its the front of the cam cover thats hitting the bonnet. My cfb has vents in the middle which happens to hit it so we going to cut across it and use mesh to cover the gap. Abit hard to explain but will post pics to better understand. Steve from top racing will be tuning it.

wiring up the ecu and doing final touches.

im not sure if it is just the picture but in the top pic with the cooler piping showing it looks like your bottom radiator hose clamp is broken. i might just be seeing things tho...

is top racing building this motor as well

very good observation mate. Even i didnt pick that up. I havent been back since that pic was taken but shall check and see. Yes top racing built it by steven lee. They sub contract him for rebuilds so i havnt seen or spoken to him for months. But when i get the chance will get all the specs of the engine.

    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
