O K !!! I found it hard to save 15k for my 180sx after workin since I was 15.5!!! Anyway...

I would get an R34 GTR, check all the import magazines for prices. Going cheaper than before, but still expensive.

An r34 will blow the clothes of any chick without even requiring a stereo!

Good luck finding one, lucky bastard :stupid:

70 grand in the bank and you want to go buy a very expensive first car) Sounds like fun but is also a stupid idea to spend that amount of cash on your first car. If you get a 34, do it up and insure it, youll pretty much have nothing left! Think where you'll be in 5-10 years, wicked car now, king amongst your mates, but nothing left later.

Your most likely to crash your first car. Be smart and buy something nice but more sensible like an s13 or cheap R33, learn to drive it, and use the rest to buy a house/unit or something thats longterm sensible. Then youll be set!

Not many 18 yr olds have an R34, but even less own realestate!

Yeah i would prob get a GTT i love the GTR but i would prob kill it. And i would have no money. But unless u are still gonna have tons of money rollin in dont get a GTR or anythin too expensive just get somethin to learn in. That way if yo have an accident you wont be as pissed off

bak on the subject of power to weight rule in victoria, to me(and most skyline p platers) i dont even consider it a factor in chosing wat car to buy, if they threaten to take my licence ill move interstate :(, less revenue raising and i can drive a ferrari enzo if i chose to(or can afford it) lol

Yeah buy an s13 or r32-33 and play with that and hope you dont kill yourself. Put the rest on a unit and rent it out, if u can save 70k then u can afford to keep paying it off to im assuming, and then keep expanding :(. 1 vital point CARS DEPRECIATE, realestate in general doesnt.

just my 2c an what id do, but i dont have that kinda $$ so no investment for me just an r32.

whuts wrong with a 70k car, if you can afford it then go for it..but if you only have 70k to your name, then buy something cheaper (R34 GTT) or even and R33 and keep the rest to insure / run the car and also to invest elsewhere..

when you purchase a car for 70k, it doesnt end there, rego, insurance, fuell bills, servicing and things breaking on you add up quite fast...

that said, i was given 50k by my parents when i entered high school which was invested on my behalf and now at 20 i have some nice change hanging around. at 18 i possesed an apartment and several acres of land in my name which will only increase in value.

having said that, i only buy 2nd hand cars with my own money as all it does is depreciate and the R33 is no exception. in abt a month or so, im going to sell the 'Line and open up 2 shops one of which is a cafe, im always on the lookout for investments and hope you think carefully before spending your 70k

    • Hey keep the ideas coming, I'm always keen on projects! But, problem fixed!  I got a cheapie ozito scope from Bunnings and had a good look in and around the bearing and sensor hole. I couldn't see a smoking gun but the bearing looked a bit strange, especially when comparing with a new one. I thought the cover had come off the bearing magnets.  Sorry for pics of a screen, I didn't have an SD card.     Good thing I had the old one to inspect. So, given I'm like a pit crew with wheel bearings and luckily I had a spare bearing because I f**ked up my parts order, I decided to just smash it out. Got the old one out in about an hour. So much easier when the parts haven't had a chance to rust together yet. 😂 And, well, found the problem.    In the second pic at about the 8 o'clock position, you'll see what I think is the tip of the old sensor.  The new sensor has definitely been rubbing but it's all intact, just a little shiny so I'm hoping it's fine.  The car brakes perfectly now and no errors.  I think the job took about 2.5h in the end. 👍🏻 I really appreciate the help in here as usual. Thanks guys.
    • I was only looking because I saw some drops on the ground but it wasn't alot. Recently had it serviced will ask the mech to confirm. Find it strange that it looks standard though, can see in another photo of a random box
    • So...not sure if you know if that has always been there or why you went looking. It could be old damage from a clutch explosion, or even just the gearbox got dropped somewhere along the line. Basically, you should seal it up to stop oil and dust getting into the bellhousing, but it doesn't matter too much and is not structural. I'd suggest something like a glob of JB Weld. BTW what gearbox oil are you running, I would guess the breather has been spewing it everywhere.
    • Hey Duncan thanks for your reply. Sorry mate I know the photos are shit.  Took another photo for reference. Seems the casing does have a hole in it looking on the net, fluid seeping out. Added a photo
    • Very hard to make out what you mean, is it the squarish hole with redline shockproof (probably) under it? Is that pic from on top of the engine with the firewall to the left of pic and engine to the right? Either way, spray the area liberally with degreaser and try again, maybe circle the part you are worried about
