This morning @ 3.33am I interupted the theft of Chris' car. I suspect his alarm didn't go off because of a faulty battery which we will have investigated today (or perhaps they knew their way around that as well). In hindsight, I should have let them take the damn car and let the tracking device do its thing and catch them red handed. But at the time, all I thought about was scaring them off.

Chris' car is normally in the garage, the only reason it wasn't is because we're working on my race car in there atm :P

There were at least three of them, pulled hoods over their heads when they realised I was on to them. Very bold, getaway vehicle all ready to go. Smashed rear quarter and I don't know what else yet, but they had the car halfway down the road.

Off to buy some movement activated night cameras now :P

Salt made of lead more likely

I'm NOT a violent person, but if I ever caught a thief having a go at mine, I'm pretty sure I would end up in gaol for a longer time (for the assault) than what THEY would have for actually stealing the car.

Mark was coming up the rear and passed me before I got down the steps - they looked scrawny to me... not enough muscle to physically work for their assets, they'd rather take someone elses hard earnt possessions. :P

Good to see the SAU community is alive and kicking....... :D

Shell, I wanted to say the C word, but I dont like that one - ask Michele !!! :)

The 34 is not meant to be able to be taken out of park until accessories are on - but obviously it can if you force it hard enough!!!

Yeah Titan - it does have the passenger release....

The battery issue on the alarm is all fixed now

and Shell, the steadeddie mobile lives another day!!!

James - I dont think you'd appreciate a 3:30am call but thanks so much for the offer

I'll guarantee that James wouldn't care less about getting a call at 3:30am, especially if it were to help a friend in need with the bonus of catching a b@stard.

Thanks everyone and keep an eye out, they were pretty bold. Alarms are all set and ready to face another day, although I suspect the scariest part for the thieving, low life, scum bucket, cesspit dwelling b@stards was seeing Mark running down the steps in his undies hahahaha

onya for scareing the crap out of the 'scum'. it's all a big joke to car thieves; I went to court to see how the judicial system handled the shithead that stole my GTR [it has never been recovered]. he couldn't have cared less; paid no attention to the prosecutor, or the judge for that matter. this thief had stolen three cars within a week, it's what he does for a living!!. the cops told me he will be stealing cars the minute he gets out of 'clink'. what irritated me was that neither the judge nor the baliff steped in to control the thief and his girlfriend started calling out how much they loved each other during court proceedings. Ridicuclous!!!.

Oh that sucks ass

I'm no lady. If someone touched my car... Actually when someone broke into my car outside of Russell last year I said the C word. Lots of times and that's without them actually damaging it. Pray for the soul of the person that ever damages it if I catch them!!

I just hate how people are so shit and have no respect for other people's property. There's so many reports of this type of thing happening in Canberra at the moment.

    • My guesstimate, with no real numbers to back it up, is it won't effect it greatly at all.its not a huge change in position, and I can't see the air flow changing from in turbulence that much based on distance, and what's in front of it. Johnny and Brad may have some more numbers to share from experience though.
    • Which solenoid? Why was it changed? Again, why was this done? ...well, these wear..but ultimately, why was it changed? Did you reset the idle voltage level after fitment? I'm just a tad confused ~ the flash code doesn't allude to these items being faulty, so in my mind the only reason to change these things, would be some drive-ability issue....and if that's the case, what was the problem? Those questions aside, check if the dropping resistor is OK ...should be 11~14 ohms (TCU doesn't throw a flash code for this) ~ also, these TCU designs have full time power (to keep fault code RAM alive), and I think that'll throw a logic code (as opposed to the 10 hardware codes), if that power is missing (or the ram has gone bad in the TCU, which you can check..but that's another story here perhaps).
    • Question for people who "know stuff" I am looking at doing the new intake like the one in the picture (the pictured is designed for the OEM TB and intake plenum), this design has the filter behind the front bar, but, the filter sits where the OEM duct heads into the front bar, and the standard aperture when the OEM ducting is removed allows the filter to pulled back out of the front bar into the engine bay for servicing, a simple blanking plate is used to seal the aperture behind the filter This will require a 45° silicone hose from the TB, like the alloy pipe that is currently there, to another 45° silicone hose to get a straight run to the aperture in the front bar Question: how will it effect the tune if I move the MAF about 100-150mm forward, the red is around where my MAF is currently, and the green would be where it would end up Like this This is the hole the filter goes through  Ends up like this LOL..Cheers
    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
    • Pull codes via the self-diagnosis procedure. As far as I can tell this is just a sign of transmission issues but not a code unto itself.
