After a sleepless night last night anticipating how to handle tuning possibly australia's tuffest R34 GTT (built by James @ OH Performance) things went remarkably smooth. With a smidge over 2bar we cracked 1002HP ATW (746.8rwKW) and 1046NM!!!! more than enough to kill any illusion that i would be able to keep top dog on my own dyno with my own unfinished project (twin T04Z turboed 427ci windsor 77' LTD)

Who said PFC's cant handle HP????

Thats just showing off now....

Wanna put up some Specs.... so everyone can drool some more.

haha nah this car is a real credit to its owner and builder not me, for a car to come in a pull a final result such as this with no dramas at all is a rare occurence. Most big builds that come in to be tuned run into dramas of one kind or another (fuel delivery, piping etc) but this car just played ball all day... a stuborn boost controller and a change from coppers to GREDDY racing pro plugs (super fine electrode and number 9 heat range) were the only issues and once sorted saw us crack the ton.

basic specs;

tall deck 2.8 liter

280 degree cams

T88GK 18cm not the 22cm which is most often used.... this is a daily driver and response was more important. (full boost was a low 6000rpm)

HKS dog box

ULTRA DLi ignition (HKS twin power equiv)

std coils

GREDDY racing pro plugs (coppers would not go past 900 consistantly)

Powerfc Djetro

Greddy plenum

ARC cooler

BLITZ 1000cc injectors

we did a few pulls into the 9k rpm range but the 18cm housing rolled off after 8200 so we limited it to 8300, no doubt with the 22cm rear housing 1300 ood hp would be a walk in the park and peak @9000-9200rpm.

HKS dog box

lol

Daily, with a dog box, and 1002hp? That brings a new meaning to the term "traffic light battle"

Apart from a worn 4th dog ring it is actually very easy to drive... the tripple plate is light but bites quick and is the only tricky part.

i have lived with dog boxes in street cars and a good one is actually (aprt fom noise) easier to drive as im lazy and am happy to slap around the town without the clutch :)

interesting....

does your dyno read lower then a Mainline ?

yeah it seems to read a bit lower than a popular mainline here in vic but on a 250rwkw car it is only about 10-15rwkw

OH dont do thier own tuning?

Nice drive from the west to the easts :)

Not sure about street car lol, that thing has a canary flagging bigger than a warship!

Great result without a doubt... although come on, SIF twin Z's wont make more

the reason i askin, is that my 515hp at wheels, pushed 1083nm... but thats from a 3 litre... i find it hard that 500cc could make that much difference?

i also noticed the power band... wow that car would be something... well.. challenging

haha sorry yeah in torque the dynapack is the only dyno to give realistic torque ie close to engine dyno readings, luckily it has both readings, i just switched it accross to mainline / dyno dynamics figures this car pulled 4299nm.... big differrence.

the only other car to come close to this torque was a 408ci blown v8 with 653rwkw and 1022NM, honestley without sounding arrogant there is no way your car made even close to 1083nm, i would expect closer to 600-650nm from your setup, which is still very respectable.

damn!

what will this be used for ? dyno days etc etc??? serious question..

well it was loaded with house tiles and driven to ocean grove.... just to put some kays on it.... daily enough?

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
