interesting... wats the idle like.. i assume you'd probaly have troubles getting it down to 1000-1100 range with injectors of that size? than again.. the cams in that thing would be rather large and probaly prefer an idle around the 1200rpm mark?

Back to this question trent.. how does it idle with such large injectors?

like a bridgeport rotary (brup, brup, brup, brup) ..... real nice rotational lump... best sounding RB idle i have ever heard.. about 1200rpm.

nice! it really would be one hell of a ride from 5,000rpm to 6,000rpm it sure piles on a whole lot of power thereafter. good result mate.

PS, I drove past your house on saturday as I was down that way, I was going to call and drop in but missed you you non phone answering bad man!

RB20's aren't capable of that power.

Well, no-one's arguing any more!

A conservative tune of 277rwkw on 1.25 bar says otherwise knackers.....

Made more than Athid's white S15 on the same boost level........

BTW don't eat all that hat of yours at once

Christ! People just don't get sarcasm even when it's jumping up and down in front of them.

But now you've kicked it off, the car this thread is about 'should' run some serious numbers but neither the tuner nor the owner are on here claiming 9's!

Have a smile and a Coke and cheer the hell up!

ahh bugger ive moved closer to the shop.....

Quite the opposite, champ. I see you have misread/misinterpreted what I meant. No matter.

My point was that it's silly to make assumptions and guesstimates without knowing or at least having a pretty bloody good idea at what the other variables are.

I don't exactly understand where you have gone with this. My comment was:

1000cc injectors should be capable of exactly 1200 engine hp. Considering he would only be making 1100-1150 engine hp...it's high but not impossible.

I said 'should be capable of'. I don't see how I have made an assumption or guesstimate? Someone was saying you can't make 1000whp using 1000cc injectors. I did a calculation and found that it could still be possible so pointed that out. No assumptions or guesstimates there mate.

If you really really want me to, I will calculate the exact amount. I will also list the common types of fuels including their burn rates and tell you exactly how many CC's each one needs to flow to make that much hp.

Or you can just accept the fact that all I was saying was 1000cc injectors could still do the job.

    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
