hey guys just wondering if anyone can tell me some good shortshifter kits for r32 gtst. my laast r32 had a really shitty one or badly installed one so i'm not sure if most of the mare like that. My last r32's short shifter had heat coming up it which was freakin annoying especially in summer as it would make the car a sauna.

now just wanting to know if my kit had a crappy install or do some shortshifters do that. which ones do? which ones don't.

the only thing i liked about my last one was that it wasn't as tight/short a throw as some on the market have. my friends one is realy tight that i rekon it on moves 1-2cms from neutral to 1st. it was uncomfortable and didn't even know which gear i was in some times as the stick didn't seem like it moved at all.

any suggestions on good shortshifters with a good throw and not stupidly short/tight one. also ones that do not let hot air come up, where to get, and prices.

thanks guys.

yeah c's or nismo, c's has shorter throw but i went for nismo, looks like a stock item, and you know its going to work well,

from memory nismo is $220 (maybe bit more with shit exchange rate) you can choose between 10% reduce throw and 25%

C's is about $300-$350 (reduces throw 30%) from memory,

i wouldnt go any other brand then these 2.

ive got a short shift in mine. is kinda cool but is really tight n can make getting into gear a bit annoying sometimes.

and also sometimes cant tell if im in 3rd or 5th...so i put it into 4th to check n turns out i was in 5th so revs go up n yeh...

but i love it...my choice... c's

Vinnie = a GTR gearstick connot be swapped into a GTS-T. You have a GTS-4. exactly the same driveline as a GTR so it fit.

Jakez88. I bought a C's short shifter for $250 brand new delivered from a trader on this forum (can't remember which one). I'm a mechanic and I rate this as a great buy for someone that really enjoys driving their car (not just being seen in it). It has the rubber insulation between the top and bottom shafts so there is no heat or noise/vibration transfer to the cabin. It gives a much more positive gear engagement and shift compared to the standard gearstick. And the old wives tale of short shifters destroying gearboxes is like a gun, It doesn't kill someone, It's the person weilding it. In short, It won't give you a performance upgrade at all but it is a fantastic driving experience upgrade. I've actually forgotten I have one until I drive someone elses and remember how nice my car is to drive.

I put one in mine (i think the same as one as this) http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Fi...ter-t21079.html. i liked it but the oil runs out going up hills. we didnt put a cover over the hole, then we tried to fit a small one but it just popped out when i changed gear. cant see how to fit the cover from the standard stick when the mount has only a small edge and it wouldnt stay on it. its fine on the flat but going up steep hills isnt. iv put the original stick back in for now till we modify the mount.

I used a couple of the circlips that were holding the old shifter in to space the block up. The 32gtst box has a shorter snout than the 33gtst box and as such that block doesn't clamp on properly.. you may find you have a 33gtst shifter..

When I put my shifter onto the 25 box it all fitted fine.

Normal price for a C's one on Sliding performance is 310 i think, go on ebay, i paid 80 for mine.

As far as i can tell its exactly the same in quality and the parts that come with it so good deal.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
