remapping an rb25 computer is dearer than most other nissan remaps.

The only person remapping rb25det ecu's i think is Dr Drift others are adapting other ecu's to the rb25det.

Hey guys,

ive done a few mods to my 33 and want my standard comp re-map instead of buying a power fc caus they are way 2 $$$.

any ideas?? im in tassie...

thanks,

Deano

My advice would be to save your pennies for a Power FC.

A) Good investment

B) The PFC will make most of future mods

C) Get one with a hand controller

ive been told to only get a remap caus im not doing anymore mods... and to save the coin.... or any other things i can do??

Get a Nistune daughter board installed into the factory ECU. $1000 for install and dyno tune. Just as good as a Power FC - only downfall is no hand controller. MRC Dynos at Castle Hill, Sydney. Call Mark.

yes im interested in this as well, im looking at nistune, or a power fc,

i wanna get the pro's and con's of each 1.

but i can't seam to find any threads with pro's and con's in it.

i have the money for a power fc, but im so tight i just don't wanna spend it.

if i can get a nistune done for half the price.

any1 have any pointers

im in the same situations as well! im trying to call

Got my car remapped at Status Tuning (Trent)

$750 - Got 185rwkw only because my boost drops to around 8psi after 4500rpm but i'm easily in the 200's if i can keep boost a consistent 10-11psi. So i'm hunting a boost controller.

I'd HIGHLY consider getting Trent to remap your car if a remap is what you're after. He can tune anything (aftermarket ECU) but i reckon remap is a good, cheap option (especially for 34's).

Same as Dr Drift, live tuning, meaning you can get it tweaked again whenever you want.

i also called up Dr.Drift but they are to exspensive! over 1k PLUS TUNNING 600. might as well get a PFC . But then i called up EAS and told me to get a Wolf 3D .. they said it was incredable? So i dont know. I would prefer the PFC to be honest.. but i dont have much mods so i think im going to RemAp...

Same deal ^^

I ended up getting a nistune daughterboard + dyno tune, 169.1rwkw but i'm limited by lack of a boost controller. Will be seeing how it goes with a new fuel pump, fpr, injectors, garrett hi-flow. My tuner has said I should expect around 260-280rwkw with that combination.

toshi FTW

500 bucks gets you over 200kw at the wheels. professional real time tune. no point paying anymore than this amount for the same result that a $2000+ pfc or other ECU will do if ur only looking to run standard turbo.

nah anyone can do it, its just not worth remapping it UNLESS IT is LIVE tuneable.. i refuse to do anything that is not live tuneable. There are plenty of options and tuners who can do it.

Are you sure you heard him correctly cause i have had this done (by dr drift) and as well as ecu daughterboard and tune he had to stuff around for a while with my actuator (cut it shorter, weld a threaded rod and drill and tap the other side to make it adjustable instead of bend it like i would have lol) and he charged me around half of the $600 you saying just for the tune!!!! I'm going back tomorrow for another tune as well as new injectors and z32.

Is this in melbourne OMY-33?

no sorry gold coast mate.

EDIT: a member on here put me onto them, altho not sure wether it's an r32 ecu with the daughterboard or not, i'll call them up 2morro and let u guys know

running a drdrift remap here 182 rwkw on 10 psi....happy with it, but she still needs a little more dyno time, that and around 10k dropped in the bay to make the whale go quick enough...

just got off the phone 2 efi, they put and rb20 ecu in and tune it with the nistune, down fall is u lose your

variable timing adjustments,

or you can get a vg30 i think it was, where you keep every thing.

any ways rb20 is $375

plus dyno time, which is about 2-3 hours at an estimate. $175 an hour.

if you wanna go higher in kw, afm and reune evey mod pretty much.

so i might save my money and get a vg30 ecu and get it tuned.

Another downfall is idle control as the RB20 needs additional inputs from a idle switch rather than just the RB25 potentiometer, but if it's not a daily driver it's hardly a problem...

    • Hi guys . Can someone help me  I bought an Android screen for my Nissan fuga but it won't turn on
    • My guesstimate, with no real numbers to back it up, is it won't effect it greatly at all.its not a huge change in position, and I can't see the air flow changing from in turbulence that much based on distance, and what's in front of it. Johnny and Brad may have some more numbers to share from experience though.
    • Which solenoid? Why was it changed? Again, why was this done? ...well, these wear..but ultimately, why was it changed? Did you reset the idle voltage level after fitment? I'm just a tad confused ~ the flash code doesn't allude to these items being faulty, so in my mind the only reason to change these things, would be some drive-ability issue....and if that's the case, what was the problem? Those questions aside, check if the dropping resistor is OK ...should be 11~14 ohms (TCU doesn't throw a flash code for this) ~ also, these TCU designs have full time power (to keep fault code RAM alive), and I think that'll throw a logic code (as opposed to the 10 hardware codes), if that power is missing (or the ram has gone bad in the TCU, which you can check..but that's another story here perhaps).
    • Question for people who "know stuff" I am looking at doing the new intake like the one in the picture (the pictured is designed for the OEM TB and intake plenum), this design has the filter behind the front bar, but, the filter sits where the OEM duct heads into the front bar, and the standard aperture when the OEM ducting is removed allows the filter to pulled back out of the front bar into the engine bay for servicing, a simple blanking plate is used to seal the aperture behind the filter This will require a 45° silicone hose from the TB, like the alloy pipe that is currently there, to another 45° silicone hose to get a straight run to the aperture in the front bar Question: how will it effect the tune if I move the MAF about 100-150mm forward, the red is around where my MAF is currently, and the green would be where it would end up Like this This is the hole the filter goes through  Ends up like this LOL..Cheers
    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
