Well sounds like you need a dog box. They are wicked to drive just a waste of money wearing dogs rings on the street instead of track. Was going to go PPG 5 speed dog but thought I needed closer ratio 6 speed with big laggy turbo on R32.

Do you actually drive these cars to work ? My cars are registered but have only clocked up 16000 km on R33 in 6 years, and thats with three 3000km trips to Adelaide and back ! Plus I get too dirty to drive them everyday. Maybe I should drive my cars more..

theres a very good chance I would be interested in this. Any idea what kind of shipping costs I would be looking at to Ontario, Canada? Also, sorry if I missed it, but if using the helical gears OEM synchros are required? supplied?

Ill see about shipping

Synchros depends on what your box has currently. Would you send your stock box here and get it done then send back, or just send the parts over and you fit the kit to the box?

Well I would imagine it would cost a small fortune to ship my box from here, so I would just like to have the gearset and all required parts shipped here. Currently I have the standard R32 (1990) box with dying synchros. I have heard the R33 synchros are much better than the R32 ones. Would I have to order the synchros from nissan myself?

OK we are going to grab a straight cut dog gearset for the nugget....but went to call these guys today, it looks like their number has changed (and not updated white pages either).

does anyone have current contact details for them?

anyone buying a gearset from PAR will be ripped off i have been so DONT do it. i paid $5900 for a sr20 syncro gearset and it has f*ked up on me 5 times yes warranty did cover it but everytime it took 2months to fix it and i had to pay the labour to pull and put the box back in 5times and had to pay for oil also.

Now my box farked up again about 2 weeks ago this is the 6th gearbox i ring him up and he trys to put it on me by saying how my driving is shit and stuff like that.

and then he says we are no longer trading in australia and have moved overseas that i would have to pay someone to open it up and purchase any parts from PAR that were needed i told him its still under warranty.

He said you know there is no warranty in this performance and racing. i told him it says it clear on your website that warranty is available within 6 months. overall i know he wasnt gonna help so i just hanged up. thats $6k down the drain not even including labour&oil i wouldnt recomened them to anyone even my friend had the same problem the guy is a rip off.

well that definitely is not good feedback or assurance for anyone on this forum

yea for sure, can anybody else give some feedback please? I'm not about to send this much money to the other side of the world unless I know I'm not going to get bent over.

I had a mate who got his HKS 6 speed reco'd by a certain Sydney gearbox manufacturer (it may or may not be PAR but due to forum rules i cannot say its them) it took 6 months and after constant phone calls was lucky to ever get it back. Two of the gears were unselectable and had to be fixed by another company. Id be very wary.

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
    • Yeah, I guess its pretty easy to get to if this doesn't work. Just wait till next oil change and pull it out. I am going to have to do the oil pan gasket soon and thought I'd just replace it while I was there.  Thanks
    • All that matters is you're safe and you were able to type that post. Hopefully heaps of parts you can recover for the next shell.
