Has anyone ever had any experience with "Kwikload" trailers?

http://kwikload.com.au/

Check out a short movie clip showing how to load the trailer.

Goodwork posting those up Russ, we got a fair bit done yesterday/last night.

Yes the side rails have been lowered 90mm, although the guards have dropped on 50mm, as the new guards will be cut flush to the top of the rails instead of sitting under. We wont have any dramas opening door on this trailer!

Were planning to have some toolboxes mounted up front, as well as a couple of Jerry can holders.

Material for the tyre rack has been ordered, should have that done within a week.

Duncan, any chance of some pics of your chain and D-Shackle setup? Sounds good.

trailers like 31 always need fixing

anyway my new trailer turns out the suspension tryed to remove itself lol doddy old repar job

anyway 3 hours and about about 15 tig rods later ( we have suspension again)

yea baby

basically the centre bracket ripped itself off on both sides and the leafs were just flopping around

should be good for another 12000 km

lol

anyway will add additional brakets to strengthen the part

funny thing is that the trailer towed perfect for the last 3000km

but now its all bouncy and better... also fixed the brakes and its now and even better dream to tow

can do 140

I remember these when they were first released, Adam (cant think of his last name) had just got the Ford drift car and one of those trailers. Was a nice piece of gear looked good and easy to get the cars on/off, but that was 5+ years ago now. As for towing they used a landcruiser and said they had no troubles.

Sorry no first hand experiance with them myself.

lol @ signature indeed!

You have read it so now I can use it, so look out when I finally get to the track and you have something I like/need :D

Serriously those trailers were a nice piece of kit, however at the time the were way to $$ compared to what else was available.

Yeah, they're pretty expensive... I saw a demo Kwikload trailer advertised on eBay for $7000. Looked the goods though!

What about these ones?

I need a light trailer.... 400kg to 500kg.... and it has to be dual axle for stability.

The place that I got mine made at (www.uniquetrailers.com.au) located at Hoxton Park were about to start making aluminium car trailers the week after I picked up mine (red trailer in the pics). I think the cost for them was going to be about $5k but a fair bit lighter than steel.

Hey fellas,

ended up getting a cheap trailer a month or two ago from http://www.positivequalitytrailers.com/

Not flash, but does the job. Going to replace wheels/tires.

also talked to this guy for a bit - made some nice gear... http://www.blstik.com.au/

Michael

I dont have those clearance lights either Neil, infact that trailer looks 99.9% identical to my trailer (I wonder if UniqueTrailers made that and sent it up as they send a truck load up every week).

the guy up there on the sunny coast makes him himself so i guess they are probably built of the same certain plans you buy on ebay and the like! lol

yeah i was thinking about adding some lamps !

Hey Michael I have the exact same trailer. Excellent value for money seems good quality and tow's really well. Just as you said though I will be changing to light truck tyres for extra peice of mind. Other than the tyres i couldn't be happier with it.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
