Hey guys,

I don't personally know anyone else out there who owns a 33 gts4,have spoken to a few people quickly, but thought this might be a good place to introduce yourself and see who else owns this rarer type of skyline.

Also.. just for the fun of it... wanted to know if anyone has a more powerful 33 gts4 then mine :P

i'll start...

Car + engine:

33 GTS4 s1 with an rb25de+T

Mods:

Hypergear tr43, nismo 740cc injectors, z32, walbro fuel pump, powerfc + commander, see signature for rest

Power:

Currently at 230rwkw... soon at 250-260.

Comments:

in the next year or so plan to drop in a GTR engine with GTSS's attached and have some real fun :D

Thanks guys

Hot ride!!!

but hey man dont bother with the rb26; i wantd to have it done in 2002 but many tuners i spoke to said it couldnt be done; but hey things have come a long way.

best keep your original motor as its a bit of hassle with engineering etc; just rebuild your motor with some forgies and rb26 or turbo rods.

much cheaper and less faaarkin' round.

thanks mate,

yeh I am hoping for the 26 but stilll iffy... I have the same options I did when I first turboed the car.

1. sell car, buy gtr

2. swap engine

3. do up this engine even more and forge... which I am tempted to do because I know mine is a good engine :)

must look into it more!

Cheers

Nah.. dont buy a GTR, do the swap!..

Gts4's are uncommon as they are.. do the conversion and its even more unique!

Even better, De-badge it, or put GTS badges on it!

Btw. What 4wd torque controller do you have?

How effective is it? Is there much more grip with it?

cheers,

Edited by GTS4WD

mmm.. thats right chris.... we gts4 people think alike ... thats what I want.. even more unique ;)

yeh the 4wd torque controller helps a fair bit in the wet.... I got it when the car was non turbo.... did not make a single difference :) but now with some power it is helpful.

the controller is called xtreme troque split controller or xtsc or something like that. I can get the name for you when I get home if you are interested... they are about 200-250ish off ebay... four wires soldiered into your 4wd computer under your centre console and your done! whats great about it is if you have a 32 there is a switch on it that can be soldiered into your 4wd computer that at the flick of a switch you have 2/4wd :D cuz mines 33 and our 4wd system is electronic like yours with fuses, I still have to take out the front drive shaft on the dyno :(

still asking... any 33 gts4 with more power then me?! otherwise I want to put in fastest 33 gts4 into my sig :D :D :D :D

Dont swap for a gtr; if you forge your engine and run a bigger turbo you can make similar power to a gtr but still use your car everyday.

I drove my gts-4 for 30,000kms everywhere!!! no1 keyed it or bumped into it etc. Its perfect; 4wd turbo without the turning circle of a gtr.

I make a big fuss over this turning circle thing and thats why my gtr has never been parked....well only at autobarn because the carpark is big and empty....well not busy etc.

oh and most powerful gts-4 r33......im sure you are.

r32 gts-4; i know of one in nz which ran low 10's....RIPS i believe like 8 years ago

pretty sure the high octane boys did up a 32gts4 a few years ago that ran mid 11's on its first track day

might have had an rb26 in it... cant quite remember now

look, im not saying no to either of the 2 ideas... but Jonny I did some thinking... what do you think is better? just to give you an idea what is going through my mind and why I am so confused.

I could get a gtr engine, attempt to get engineers paperwork, etc... chuck on some gtss's get a real responsive 300-330kw and the motor still looks stock so popo arent going to be too bad....

Or... (this is why I now am confused)

forge my engine, strap on a trust td06 and fang hard... its a hard decision because I went in sam's (dr.drift) new 32 gtst 4door he's got with the main mod being a copy td06 at 260rwkw and 16ish psi... it absolutely fanged... was fantastic to drive and left tracks in every gear... and sam said his mate has a 350ish kw gtr and recons this thing would beat it up to about 120km/h. but its got an external gate and is completly illegal.. the popo would bend me over... thats more what i am concerned about as well...

now what you think??

BTW>>> Awsum to hear about my power being the most outa these :O

Hey mate, well you could go for a bolt on gt-rs turbo which looks stock enough and makes great power!

basically you buy an rb26 for 4grand (maybe more) you dont know how long its gonna last where a new forged motor is almost new and tough.

gt-ss or 2860-7 or -5 are 2500-3000 + dumps and fronts

Think about this then; i got a quote from rajab racing in 2002 for $14,500 for a full rebuild with ball-bearing turbo, forgies, turbo rods, injectors, fuel pump, turbo coils, front mount ic, dumps and full 3inch exhaust.

All labour included and tuned with a Motec.

now thats a big dollar figure considering r33 gts-t are going for around that price now!!!!

Now im thinking: sell your car and buy the turbo model because although parts have come down alot you'll still be looking at past 10k and thats just not right.

But then again if you buy a gts-t; then it will be probably stockish with zorst and cooler

Everything looks real chic except the rear skyline light-up garnish,

not my cup of tea but nice job with the interior,

I got the exact layout of lights except the neons,

got bored of too much blue and slapped on some green.

sorry lost me a little bit jonny... are you saying I should sell the car then get a gtst and drop a 10k forged engine into it??? btw... before you next post somewhere... thought it was pretty cool your post count is 666 and the chik in ur profile looks a lil devilish :)

and police... u and the real cops both dont like my garnish... one time a cop picked me up and said it looked gay.... cumming from a balld man with no facial hair... I duno... I think he was more pissed he couldnt prove my car was overpowered cuz its a gts4 and they dont have the specs for my car.. :(

also.. i thought about different colours... but then I didnt want the car to look play-fun-house sorta rainbow... so stuck with blue!

UPDATE:

got my final tune from Sam a couple of days ago, absolutely wrapped with the response he's added to the car.

I gained about 20-40kw over all from 2600-5000 while still keeping the same top end power, im sure i will want more soon  , but i am more about response over high kw.

What do you guys think of this?

cant wait to turbo my GTS4, i love the idea of keeping the blue GT badges and no sign of a turbo unless your looking under the bonnet. Sleeper route is the way to go in my opinion, i love the idea of a GTR but theres to many idiots out and about.

Ive still got a year and a bit on my Greens so ive got plenty of time to look for the perfect motor, I think im sold on the idea of an RB26dett, or a RB25DET from a stagea. No doubt it would be cheaper and less headaches just selling and buying a GTR but its just not the same.

A unique car indeed

the Stagea 25DET is a killer, easy conversion for the 33 gts4.

We did the conversion in my cousin's car (user: Mr.Massive). Purchased bare engine from JIS in SA, used as many bits as we could from his then current 25DE, coils, starter motor, power steering, oil pressure sender, AFM, etc etc. Just needed to swap the N/A engine sump onto the Stagea motor (so the front & rear diff ratios matched). Then the cool stuff - adding on all the aftermarket bits, Z32 ECU remapped with NisTune, close to 200atw with an r34 turbo @ around 10psi.

200kw atw/25DET + ATESSA = one fast GTS4. Bang for buck.

I f**kin love the thing more than my car...!

    • Must have been an absolute nightmare to drive when the power steer was out, the rack ratio/wheel size/caster is all set up for power assistance
    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
    • I wanted to try and preserve the front bumper as long as possible, they're not cheap and are made to order in Japan. Taking inspiration from my previous K11 Micra build where I made an undertray for the Impul bumper, I did the same for this BN Sports bumper but a little slimmed down.  This time round I only made a 'skid plate' (if that's the correct wording/term) for just the bumper surface area, the Micra version covered the gap like an undertray. Starting off with a sheet of mild steel approx. 0.9mm thick 4ft x 2ft in size. I traced around the bumper, cut it out and cleaned the edges. Luckily I was able to get two halves from one piece of metal In the video I installed it as is, but I've since then I've removed it to spray and add a rubber edging trim. The rubber trim is suitable for 1-2mm and it's a really nice tight fit. The bolts had to be loosened due to the plates being too tight against the bumper, the trim wouldn't push on I used some stainless M6 flat headed bolts for a flusher finish (rather than hex heads poking down), I believe this style fastener is used for furniture too incase you struggle to source some. The corner's are a little wider, but this may be an advantage incase I get close to bumping it  The front grill got some attention, finally getting round to repairing it. Upon removal one fixing pulled itself out of the plastic frame, one side is M8 that fixes inside of the frame, where as the other side is M5. Not knowing I could get replacements, I cut down an M8 bolt, threaded it inside the frame along with a decent amount of JB Weld.  The mesh was replaced to match the bumper. One hole on the bonnet/hood had to be drilled out to 8mm to accommodate the new stud, once the glue had set it could be refitted. I think the reason the grill was double meshed was to hide the horn/bonnet latch (which makes sense) but I much prefer it matching the bumper Bumper refitted and it's looking much better IMO The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVZP35io9MA
