Hi Michael

I had the same setup when I had my skyline, cop pull me over and I asked him about my CAI box. He said it's fine. But I don't think its legal to have 2 induction mods.

I guess I was lucky. This topic have been cover many times before. I'm sure there is a thread under the mod section.

Cheers

any officer/tmu officer that is experienced with our cars will spot that a mile away...best to keep it all stock i reckon..get a stock pod box and modify the bottom of the box by putting holes but not so that its obvious that its been hacked up.

A mate got his S15 defected and is putting back to standard for EPA. He got told by them that a pod in behind your front bumper is considered a sealed airbox!! Go figure. Also you can have an after market front mount if your car comes standard with one, I found this out when contemplating upgrading my Familia GTR one, was told because it comes standard with front mount I can put a bigger one on and it isn't considered a mod. Also told by the same Vic Roads guy that Pods are legal so long as they are dry and not the oiled type. No need to be sealed.

^^^ don't think it matters where u put the pod...if its a pod its a induction modification...if u had a cooler as well as a pod behind the bumper in its "sealed box" its still illegal.

same thing wether it has a factory front mount or not its still classified as another intake mod

so by law you cant do it, doesnt mean they will know though

Now ring vic roads twice more and ask the exact same question and you will get 2 different answers, if there willing to say that a bigger front mount is not classed as a modification get them to send you out a letter saying so because no cop is going to believe you, and even with the letter most cops will probably dick you anyway.
