CeJay
Basically want to know if they are any good, or are they a cheap copy? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/243832-jjr-intake-manifold-rb25det/#findComment-4248737 Share on other sites
Bliksem
Cheap copy of Greddy. Some people have them though. I think its a bit of a gamble whether or not you end up with one thats cast properly or not... in saying that just jap would probably replace it for you. I went with a proper Greddy on my car, I personally prefer to support the genuine stuff. MANWHORE
A few years ago, Greddy was the only feasible aftermarket plenum option for the rb25. Then suddenly someone copied it and flogged them off cheap. I have no experience with this particular jjr product and as such I am not commenting on that product, but some people have noticed flow inconsistencies between the cylinders with the copies I referred to. W0rp3D
Unless you are in a huge hurry to get one i would keep an eye on ebay and the for sale section and wait for a genuine greddy to pop up, will cost you a few hundred more but will work the way it should. copying the out side of one of these is easy, the inside is where all the r&d goes and thats the dodgy bit of these copies. s13_Skyline_inside
agreed go with the genuine item if you want he best results, and as said before, id rather support the guys who actually put some work into it rather than the guys who just copy it Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/243832-jjr-intake-manifold-rb25det/#findComment-4384708 Share on other sites
frozenwaffles
yeah i agree with you guys in the long run but a genuine greddy is now $1500-$1700... and well i havent seen a second hand on ebay or anywhere for a little while... TiTAN
It usually has a big GREDDY logo in red stamped on the top of it near the throttle body my genuine Greddy one didn't have a red logo stamped on it. it did however come with a Greddy sticker that goes in the big raised up rectangle on top of the thing. it also comes with shiny screw in fittings for the the vacuum/pressure lines and pretty much all the vacuum hose / clamps / bolts etc you need to install the thing. Mr. Untouchable
mmm ive seen a few of the ebay copies first hand. they are pretty average. I'm going to buy one soon and cut it open, weld the pin holes/craters and shitty bits up and clean the runners up and then weld it back together. then get the surfaces machined and maybe putty and paint one. see what the total comes to.. just for science as they come tho they are pretty average. genuine greddy items are very pricey now. and hypertune are great and are also expsensive..(but when you know what goes into them, ie runners, velocity stacks and the billet plenum section they are a work of art and are worth every damn penny. plazaman items also look the biz. high quality stuff and results to back it up i bought a stryder manifold (very simular design to hypertune). couldnt be more impressed. but i had to modify a few things. had to fit throttle cable bracket. and move both water sensors near the top radiator pipe inlet..... bit of mucking about but great product anyway as for the chinese copies mate they are like any other chinese product. Hit and miss buyer beware cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/243832-jjr-intake-manifold-rb25det/#findComment-4407733 Share on other sites
Marco-R34GTT
I wonder if anyone has tried a NISMO one, from what I understand the NISMO one is the unit that MINE's uses when it replaces the plenum on it's stage 2 RB26 upgrade.. I wonder if they can be made to fit an RB25 liket he Greddy one can???
