I've had the Skyline for about 3 nearly 4 years now and own the bugger outright.... We are having to think of a more practical car :(and something in the Aust. market (lower cost of insurance). So what do you get for $25k after you've owned a Skyline? Yes I know it's true that most things pale into insignificance compared to one, but the change is inevitable.... Any suggestions?

my friend sold his s15 and he wanted something a bit cheaper and definitely more practical, he looked at the rexy wagon for a while. a tonne of bang and a lot of bootspace!

i'm cursed with never being satisfied.. next i want an M3, then an E55 and finally a 911t! then i will be able to sleep well at night hehe

Not sure about insurance... but an Audi A4 turbo, or maybe the V6 one. A little vague on the straight ahead but very nice cars.

Or an E36 325i, i would consider a Holden but too many aftermarket susp/engine parts which would mean it would cost me a fortune to modify as i wouldnt be able to help myself.

Audi RS4 - hands down the best station wagon ever made!

For those that don't know it's an 6 cylinder DOHC twin turbo intercooled monster (sound familiar?)

power wise it's 280kW@6100rpm and 440Nm@2500rpm

0-100 in 4.9.

not bad for a "family" car :)

edit: forgot it's 6speed manual and AWD :)

there's an RS6 which is basically the same, just not a station wagon.

how much are they?

From memory they were sold in limited numbers (like 15 or something in Oz) and were almost 200grand. Oh and noone has mentioned that Porsche actually built them, hence the Porsche logos on the brake calipers.

A nice Audi that may be worth a look if you have to have some GO, would be a '94 model S2 or S4. (2door/4door) They have 4wd, turbo 5 cylinder engines and the tuff Audi look. 4 years ago 40grand got you close, no idea of what they are worth now.

Based on the 100 quattro (later re-badged the A6), the S4 replaced that car's V6 with the venerable five-cylinder, iron-block engine. Equipped with a 20-valve alloy head, KKK K24 turbo, external wastegate and air/air intercooler, the 2.2 litre engine boasted immense low-down torque - no less than 350Nm was available at just 1950 rpm. And, if the driver was prepared to put his or her foot right down to the floor, an over-boost function kicked in, with intake pressure rocketing to 16 psi and torque rising still further to 380Nm at 2100 rpm. With 169kW available, the 1650kg leather-and-carbon-fibre trimmed cabin would then be propelled to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds....and with a 6 speed manual.

But my preference is the S2.. but you may a well keep the Skyline

Woops, just had a look... i suppose i was dreaming that they had dropped into the 20s (Still around 40k if you can find one):)

Audi A4s fall into the price bracket though.

Speaking of Volvos, i just looked up the T5s, 5cyl turbo, manual (FWD???). Wagons start at 20k, sedans from around 22k on up

Eg .Volvo 1997 S70 T5 sedan, Turbo, in green with beige leather and suede, all electrics, alloy wheels, airbags, ABS brakes, 81808kms 26k

Am i going to be stoned to death for suggesting cars with a euro flavour... perhaps go with the Forrester, only i woudlnt be able to resist the temptation to modify them.

    • I can ship Nismo floor mats to you: https://www.oemsoko.co.jp/products/nismo-floor-mats-for-skyline-r33-bcnr33-stagea-wgnc34?_pos=1&_sid=9278c1467&_ss=r
    • Here's the link: https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/nissan-japan/stagea/wgnc34/6642/misc/G49?frame_no=WGNC34-137122 What you think about it? The same product i found on nengun: https://www.nengun.com/oem/parts/40567/MiPwn5qAMfCfmpxHNDnwn5q9MDAx8J-QiW9sZC1qcC0xMTAtRzQ5LS0wMDE/Floor+Carpet+%2F+Mat+2/0688339eba149c19 Bot i have spoken to 😅 ensured me, that mats are 100% original, oem product. I have my doubts. I also heard what you mentioned, that nengun often offers items that are actual not available... On the other hand mats i found on japanese yahoo or ebay are in poor condition and still quite expensive so i'd rather wait for some better offers. My location - Poland. We literaly don't have ANY market for used Stagea parts so need to search outside Europe.
    • You can’t see much on the other side as the lcd is there I don’t think it’s the same as the m33 beside it as the markings on top is not the same was hoping someone had a good quality photo or if they just happened to have the unit in hand, quickly take the cover off and take a photo to clearly show the marking on top to identify the diode   the unit is currently with an electronics repair shop so I can’t take another photo at the moment hopefully they are smart enough to know if it’s a zener diode or not
    • I'd be very surprised if you can buy new OEM mats. But if you can, I want some too!  Do you have links to the variations you found? Also, where are you located? I found that Nengun is happy to list items to purchase but when you do buy them you'll get an email that it's actually discontinued. As far as I know the variations in floor mats are different colour schemes as well as automatic and manual having a slightly different shape. The automatic ones fit into a manual car without issues, but I think you'd have trouble fitting the other way around. I have photos that show the shape difference if you care. FWIW I bought sets of used floor mats in decent condition at yahoo auctions.
    • Hi 🙋‍♂️. Just bought my Unicorn but the interior need some minor work so it would match my expectations ;). I noticed it is hard to get used oem floor mats in good condition so i started to dig if there's any chance to buy set of new ones. I found two websites - nengun and amayama and it looks like one can still buy factory new floor mats in Japan, but thers a small issue. Some mats (i assume genuine, oem ones) are marked as G4900 and these are "discontinued". The ones you can buy are marked as G4911 but i have no idea if these are also oem, made by other producer or some lower quality replacements that looks entirely different. Can anyone help? 😃  P.s. there is also some strange indication - 0V005, 0V015 and 0V505. Any idea what does it mean? Would appreciate any help with this 🙏
