Are you mr rb? If so, saw them pull you over, I saw that they were following you and could sense that they were going to pull you over, was kust hoping that you spotted the unmarked car behind you and continue to drive sensibly, which you did, unlucky but.

Yeah bud, that's me. Drive sensibly most of the time & was kinda annoyed cos I didn't actually see them for once either. I normally notice the unmarked cars but for some reason I didn't see this one :-(

Neil will defect you no matter what you do.

Another funny thing was that he asked me if I'd come from Vili's just after he pulled me over so he knows all about the friday night meet too :-/

Just an observation and comment

Everything you post on here, including broadcasting what other illegal mods he's missed, can be read by anybody, Be wary of stirring the hornet's nest and creating an even more frenzied attack on the Skyline community. My wife and I hold our breath everytime we see a cop car while out in the Skyline. I've even pulled to the right at an intersection to let a cop car squeeze past get around a corner on my left and got a friendly wave back. Obviously I wasn't in Glenelg.

Mentioning a certain importers name to a certain officer may not do much good, as he is the one who showed a certain officer what to look for ; the justification being that the "educated" officer only defected you for illegal things not just what he thinks might be illegal. So if he finds your boost controller, consider yourself done. Also this guy has been put into a car by SAPOL and told to "go out and get 'em". He's doing a very good job, apparently.

It's good that those who get defected post it here so we know the current hotspot. It's a bit like speed camera locations.

If Glenelg is the current haunt then I will avoid that area in my Skyline. I wouldn't even ride my sport bike to Glenelg as police there are, or at least were, hot on bikes as well.

Here's an example from a workmate. An officer ran over to his bike before he hardly even got his helmet off and defected him for having a fender eliminator kit on his bike. He was also told "we don't want you lot down here" - referring to motorcyclists. From what I was told, that was a wish of the local Mayor.

Hmmm

I must tether those pod filters.

Thanks for your comments mate but I never posted anything about what he missed if u were referring to me, just that there's a bit to do before i take the car through Regency. I'm generally always pretty friendly with cops considering I do/did want to be one one day so this was just unlucky on behalf.

yeah about the glenelg thing I was followed for ages by an unmarked with his high beams on in my 32. then when i parked next to a park he went around the block a couple of times and looked at my car. So ridiculous cause my mate in his 4age corolla which is louder than my car and he was driving much faster than i was (i was doing speed limits everywhere) and going through round abouts pretty quickly wasn't even looked at. You would thin that they would have something better to do.......

Unfortunately if you drive and import on the road these days you will be targeted, It sucks and some of the lucky ones manage to steer clear of trouble. But if your car has modifications to it deemed illegal then you will be defected.

I was driving behind a mate down Tapleys hills rd with an un engineered 25 in his 32 with plenty of other stuff, seen a ve commodore fly out of a back street after us we were both driving sensible but I got pulled over and defected for the usual (from officer Neil). My car had been looked at plenty of times from the po po but nothing until that day.

I was also told when he defected me that they (police) do get on here and read up on things.

They do seem to be getting smarter, have had cops in the past look at my car & pretty much only warn me about how low it is, had an undercover go through my whole car & almost try to do me for my skinny spare saying it wasn't the correct spare tyre for me to have. He ended up just warning me bout my driver's seat being apparently loose even though he shook the shit out of it to come to this conclusion :P This Neil bloke def knew what & where to look, he even shone his torch @ my turbo to see if it looked any different from stock. There's plenty of other things that I think they should be doing with their time though...

In all fairness if your car looks rediculois I.e wheels protruding the guards massive cannon and low then you prob deserve to be defected, my exhaust is fair massive so I'm getting rid of it as I belive it's the reason why I was pulled over even if they didn't ask me to rev it or anything so unless your good at keepin your car looking stock etc then it's only a matter of time, fingers crossed I don't get pulled over anymore so goodbye boost controller, huge exhaust and computer, everything else is legal on the car

Ya see comments like that can anger people pretty good hey, I didn't deserve to be pulled over & I don't appreciate comments like that. Is it my fault that I wanted a bit of time & effort put into my car to make it look good?! Apart from it sitting a tad low my car isn't too loud & my rims are stock from a 350Z. I don't think anyone really "deserves" to be defected unless your driving out there & being a complete dick

A lot of us do drive like dicks at times, if you saw a commodore pull out of a sidestreet and hang the back out for no reason doing 80 in a 60 you would laugh when he got defected. Even if it was 11pm on a Tuesday with no one around.

When you are honestly doing nothing and get done then I can see where the anger comes from.

    • The fab work can be as simple as a couple of silicon hoses and clamps to the factory piping.
    • Just sounds like either way you need to do some fab work to get everything to fit, so why limit yourself at that point? If the GCG high flow option is zero effort in and out swap though I'd probably do that. It's almost certainly lowest risk, lowest cost, etc. The HKS GTIII-RS option that Kapr mentioned is laughably expensive for what it is, they charge the exact same for two turbos on the RB26 so their margins are off the charts on that thing.
    • Intake manifold is not a part of the issue. The turbo bolts to the exhaust manifold. That is easy. But close your eyes and picture the physical situation. That is a T3 flange on the manifold and a T3 flange on the turbo. As long as any new turbo has a T3 flange on the exhaust housing, that exhaust housing will bolt to the exhaust manifold. This places the exhaust housing in the same place as the stock one. But now move your mental attention a little further forward. The location of the compressor housing is set by the length of the turbo's core. The stock turbo had a long core. Let's say that it is..... 100mm long. So that would place the compressor housing 100mm forward of the exhaust housing. But a highflow, might well have a centre core that is shorter. Let's say that it is only 70mm long. Now the compressor housing will be 30mm further back in the engine bay than the stock one. This DOES move the turbo's compressor outlet backwards. It also moves the compressor's inlet backwards. You will very likely have to do some work to both the inlet and outlet piping to make everything connect again. I am not say this to make it out to be a bigger deal than it is. I am just pointing out that "bolt on" is sometimes not quite bolt on. The highflow from GCG that Murray linked above (https://gcg.com.au/turbo-charger-upgrade-skyline-gtst-2iu-xtrgts-s1.html ) uses a core that is the same length as the stock core, and so does not require this extra work. It will look very much like the stock turbo. No-one uses GTR turbos of any flavour (stock, or aftermarket) in a single turbo application on RB20/25. It's not a thing. Yes, people have been putting on GT3076, GTX3076 (and bigger and smaller versions of those) and G30s (of various sizes) onto RB20/25 since forever. But these are not "bolt on". Everything except the 4 bolts to the exhaust manifold change with these. And genuine Garretts are expensive. Non-gen, like Pulsar, etc, are cheaper, variously as good or nearly as good. But still not bolt on. No-one in the right mind would pay for an HKS turbo. Not in this modern day and age. Well, yes, the GCG highflow. You could ask HG what he can do to make the compressor housing sit in the original location. There are surely others doing highflows around the world. And some of the eBay/Temu ones (as reported by Dose) work and don't die. Bit of a lottery though. I would send your turbo to GCG (here in Oz) to be highflowed if you want a trivial no-extra-work option. But seriously, the work required to change inlet and outlet piping is not that hard. That's a boost control problem, not a turbo problem.
    • Thank you all for the replys 🙂 I know that intake would be different but that is one pipe at it is not that hard to get(custom one). I meant mainly bolt to the stock manifold and the turbo elbow. I looked and many sites/forums but they are just "old" with some old HKS turbos from GT-R i guess? What about some Garrets?  Or any other turbo? Is there even a turbo which i can just bolt on? 😄 And yeah i know about that new HKS but that is like 2000k USD without taxes/shipping in here   Iam getting a touch up tune but my "problem" is that on the "not" hot day iam getting peaks around 0,9 bar...and when it was around 15 Celsious i saw peak around 1 bar which is just too much for stock turbo. And of course turbo is old and i like to get some new one for a piece of mind 🙂
    • I'm working on the assumption that our friend Jasmine here is a Russian (or, possibly Ukrainian) spammer/spambot, based purely on the number of such that I have been having to neuter in the last few weeks. IP address for the OP above was in WA. But that could have been via VPN. Posting at quarter to 4 in the morning is a good sign of being from somewhere in Europe. The last Jasmine that I kicked in the cooch was IP addressed in Ukraine. Even that could have been via VPN, and the bitchbot could have been from Russia, Serbia, China or anywhere. Regardless, was a spambot, so I killed it with fire. The fact that our new friend Jasmine here did not respond in any way to my tart query strongly suggests to me that this OP was just the establishment phase of a user able to be activated for spamming in a week, or 3 or 10.
